typo:
1212 - 2x12 (one front firing 12" driver and one slanted baffle 12" driver)

the 1210 has a front firing 12" and a 10" on the slanted baffle part of the cab.
To be uniform with that designation, they should be
1010
1210
1212
21012 (so far, so good...)
21010 (two front firing 10" & single 10" on the slanted baffle); actually is designated 101010 (go figure )
210210 (two front firing 10" & two 10" on slanted baffle); actually designated 410.

But then I'm a severe OCD case.

Steve S - that's not what I found, and my primary concern was to compare it to my GS112.

My bottom line - I hoped one 1212 could best one GS112. It sure as does. For the times when one GS112 won't do, I'd rather bring one 1212 than two GS112. In fact, in the year I had two GS112 I never did gig with both yet several times I came very close to buying a GS212. More than anything, that historical fact tells me I'm more of a one cab guy even if it is a little heavier/larger. The GS112 is a wonder cab in its own right, so I'll still keep one but likely sell the other.

SMASH, this is a very good description comparing the Aguilar GS 112 to the Schroeder. I sold one of my GS 112s because I couldn't hear the notes very clearly. I went back and read all of the comments regarding the Schroeders and wll probably get one. Thanks again.

Well, I'm 5 days shy of 4 months ownership and patiently waiting for my 1212 to add to the 1210 I've got.

I've never heard a cabinet to compare! Jorg says his cabinets aren't for everyone...they're perfect for me. Extremely responsive to my playing... just like my basses, a perfect extention of myself! Thanks again Jorg!!!

Yeah about that "not for everyone". I've heard nothing but great things about all Jorg's cabs but I've heard they're very modern and clean sounding. I was just wondering if they could be growly too because that's what I'm looking for and besides the alleged "modern" sound a 1212 or 1210 would be the perfect cab for me (I'm looking for something smaller with out sacrificing much or any volume). Just to give you an idea of the sound I'm looking for, I love the Mesa 400+ and all the mesa cabs I've tried. I also love the Aguilar DB 659 and 750 and the Aguilar GS 112 and 212. Do you think a Shroeder would work for me and is there any way I could try one out?

Just an SM58 pointing at the room and within the first part of the first 2 hours the drummer sat with us (we hired him btw)

I can't compare it to anything you've listed... but there are lots of old school players digging these little cabinets and can compare them for you.

The sound clip sounds close to what I wan't. I'll never really know untill I get a chace to play one through my rig or a similar rig. As for trying one out, I'm in no hurry. I'm just now starting to try out cabs. I'll send Jorg an e-mail in a week or two. Thanks for the information.

Very growly. So much so that in those occasionswhere I prefer less growl and more rumble, I prefer the Acme Low B2.

However, my 1210 is still my "go to" amp when I'm not sure of the playing environment or musical genre and I gotta be sure that I'm being heard. In other words, most of the time.

If I may offer some unsolicited advice...don't do it!!! I had a decline in my interest of playing bass (and guitar) after graduating from college in 1982...almost everything was gone (vintage guitars, amps, 1974 P Bass that I got brand new when I was 15, near mint Marshall Major head) by the end of the '80s. Spent a lot of time riding bicycles...totally trashed my back...bass bug bit me in about 1996, sold bicycles, bought and sold lots of bass gear trying to find "the gear". Really wish I had the gear that I did in 1979...the instruments would be worth a small fortune, as would the amps, and I wouldn't have G.A.S pains like I do sometimes...

Anyway...back to the Schroeder thread!!!!
