Well, we're running out of reasons to post on this thread! :D
Practically every question imaginable has been asked and answered, short of just actually going out and hearing the darn things...

Then again, somebody could ask a question that's never answered before, like "can I get the name of the guy who provided Jorg with the cabs' carpeting so I can buy enough of the carpet so I can wall paper my livingroom with it?"

Probably nobody will ask that, but then again, people really do like that carpeting! :D

I'd like to know what made him decide to use those funky attentuator knobs that look like they came off a cheap P Bass knock off? Will this keep it going another 1000 posts?

I've got one with the new knob and one with the old... I like the chrome one :bassist:

I am the carpet hater here!!!! Jorg's is as good as any other and I dig the blue tint.... but I hate playing a nappy Shore bar only to have my car and house smell like booze, smoke, salt and dead fish (ok, it's really just cigarette and damp salt air).

I'm gonna have mine all covered in tweed down the road :smug:


What we need is more pictures! how about posting pictures of your Schroeders in use or on display!!!

There is nothing wrong with running that amp into the cab. As with any head or power amp it a matter of how far you turn that knob up. In this case you will distort the speaker's before the head for sure where many times people don't have enough power and they distort the amp before the speakers. It won't hurt it until you are actually over driving the speaker's which will be very loud by that point. You have great headroom and performance out of the speaker for sure with that power behind it.

I just had a chance to try some of Jorg's cabinets today at Pete Skjold's shop (more on that in the basses forum, but long story short, I put a deposit down on a custom bass from Pete!). Pete had the 1210, 1212, 21012 and 410 in stock (he's a dealer for Jorg). My favorite was the 21012, followed by the 1212. They are all very loud for their size, that is for sure! As for tone, they do have a certain extent of colloration. In fact, at lower volumes, I noticed an overtone that was pretty much ever-present and somewhat droning, though certainly every note was clearly heard, and with good definition. There was just another tone layered over top. Not that this is good or bad, just an observation. I did notice that as you turn up the volume, and as you attack the strings harder, this "drone tone" moves to the background, and ultimately goes away. Interestingly, the louder/harder you play these cabs, the more "accurate" they seem to sound. They certainly enjoy being pushed hard, and were very impressive in this regard.

Some of you may note that I am a vocal fan of several other cab makers , and no, I am not going to trade in all my other cabs for a stable of Schroeders! ;) But, I was impressed by the volume that Jorg is getting out of these small cabs, and although I was playing through them unaccompanied, I can hear what you guys are saying about them having a tone that it tailored to cut through in a live situation.

Oh, and needless to say, Pete Skjold and his partner, Ron, are two exemplary gentlemen, and very nice to talk to. I did get to see Jorg's new basses in progress, too! You are going to love them, Jorg! I'm going with mahogany body, custom model, as well (though 5 strings are more than enough, for me!).
