OK, here we go again. . . I received my 1210 yesterday. WOW! I'd like to be able to give some negative feedback (really, I would, just because I know what it's like to read all the praise of the Schroeder cabs here for months thinking, "they can't be THAT great"). . . but thus far, I have nothing bad to say. I have yet to gig so this is preliminary, but I used my Crest LT1000 and Demeter 201s last night, bridged, and it was insane. I started off at relatively low volume and it sounded really fantastic, not weak, very clear and defined with warmth. And the more I gave to it, the better it sounded. I live in a townhouse so I didn't have it volume up for that long but for a little while I really cranked it... MAN, nothing but sweetness, huge bottom, definition, and punch. Even slapping up high, with the 201's "Bright" switch engaged, it was very bright, but not harsh and not brittle. Amazing. . . I'm very impressed and excited to gig it.
Now a quick question: I plan on doing a more extensive search on this subject and if I can't find anything I'm going to post a new thread: can anyone recommend a head to replace my pre/power amp configuration? I am a huge, HUGE fan of the IP-777, and I love the Demeter as well. I've got the Crest and a SW 2.1 (being repaired). I'm just thinking I might go back to the head for simplicity, and I've thought about the WT-800, but Eden stuff has a definite color to it and I'd like (if this is realistic) to find one that is more like the Stewart/Kern or Demeter rig. They both have different attributes and nothing is going to perfectly reproduce the tone of your bass with NO coloration at all, but. . . I think you know what I'm talking about even though I'm not articulating it very well. All right, thanks all!
