Evidently I spend too much time online at work. I just read this whole freaking thread (although admittedly it took a couple days). Anyone in Oklahoma (preferably OKC region) have one of these suckers so I can try it out?

I've got a 1210, and a 21012 in my office in Yukon. send me a pm, we'll hook up. Or, if you want to drive to the DFW area, you can try them out at Pete Skjolds place. He's got one of everything in stock to try.

I just sold my Berg cab to get the 1210...the comparison between the two was blatantly obvious which cab worked for me. I took home the 1210!
The low mids that it's able to put out without sacrificing clarity is hilarious! Just a blast to play through.
I know that there have been some comparisons between the Berg design and Jorg's...as far as I'm concerned, there really is NOTHING the 2 share, except for speaker brand (I believe that Bergs AND Epifanis share the same speaker manufacturer). The way the cab is folded and designed sets it apart from most other cabs out there.
Needless to say, I'm HOOKED on these cabs!

Have any of you tried both Acme and Schroeder cabs? I know that in a lot of ways they are opposite in terms of design philosophy. I've got an Acme Low B4 that I love, but due to its nature, you really have to crank up the volume and throw well over 1Kw through it to get a good, clear tone that sits well in a mix. Just when I think it sounds perfect, I get told to turn down, because it is absolutely pounding 20 feet away, but is quiet up close. It sounds like the Schroeder is able to get a sound that works well with a band at a lot lower of a volume than the Acme. To those of you that have the 1210, do you think it would be louder than my Acme? I'm putting 1800 watts into it, but I definitely wouldn't want (let alone need) to put that much through a Schroeder. Any thoughts?

Without a doubt. I've never owned a B2, but I've played through one. The 1210 isn't as deep in the low end, but it still sounds huge. You can easily hear it loud and clear even when standing beside it while it is sitting flat on the ground. The B2's sensitivity rating is only 93db 1w/1m. In comparison, the 1210 (according to Brian Barrett) is 102db 1w/1m. It's no contest, at least in terms of volume.

If you want to get the low end a bit closer to that of the Acme, I'd suggest a 1212 instead of the 1210.

Yesterday my 1210 arrived almost at the same time as my Glockenklang Bass Art Cab, then I make some comparation together with my Low B2. I hook it withGlock Bass Art classic Head , Aguilar DB 680/Demeter VTHM 300. Basses Sadowsky VJ, FBass BN 5 and Jerzy Drozd prodigy LE.
Here my short brief result :
Acme has more deep bottom , 1210 has more mid and smoother highs, and more volume. Acme gives a better low for B string. For slap and pops , 1210 is better.
1210 sound better with Aguilar than Glock head.
If I compare 1210 with Glock cab, Glock is better in overall sound, smoothness, depth, clarity and thickness 1210 mid-highs sound sharp compare to Glock which you can play hours without my ears getting tired. 1210 is better in size/compactness than Glock
All the comparation I made with EQ all set flat.

SlinkP and I did a bass cab "taste test" here at TB a few months ago, featuring my Acme LowB2 and my 1210, as well as some other "boutique" cabs. I would mostly agree with what has been said in the last few posts. A couple of interesting additions:

The Low B2 sounds a bit more "natural" with flat EQ at low volumes than the 1210, which to me is perhaps the biggest downside to the 1210. However this begins to disappear as the 1210 is cranked a bit. The 1210 sounds sounds better and better the more you crank it. That being said, although it loves power, it sounded quite nice powered by a relatively low power amp as well. Generally speaking, it's easily as versatile as the Acme in terms of the sounds you can get out of it, and way more versatile in terms of the range of amplifiers you can use it with (low as well as high powered)

In terms of audibility, the 1210 stood head and shoulders above the other cabs - it's reputation for being able to cut through loud/dense bands is well deservred. It is the cab that I've used almost exclusively for the past few months, which is probably the best recommendation that somebody can give any piece of gear.

Hey There ,

Just wondering what the price difference is between each Cab.

The Acme Low B2 cost me $480.00 plus shipping

The 1210 cost me $619.00 including shipping. This price included a small fee for adding casters ($20.00 I think). I believe that the price of the Schroeders have gone up slightly since I bought mine.

All in all, both the Schroeders and Acmes are much cheaper than most anything else of similar size and quality.

Good Lord, this is the longest thread in any forum I've ever read (still working on it). Nonetheless, I think I may have stumbled across my new cab. I currently have a GK 800RB and first year Eden 410T. I think I'm retiring these both to permanent practice room pieces (we practice on the 2nd floor, so the stairs downright suck). I'd played through a HT322 Bergantino and loved it, but I wasn't thrilled with a 95# cab to load in and out of my car by myself. Thanks to everyone for all the outstanding information!!!!

I have a Bergantino 3/10 & 2/12...awesome cabs, but recently started to have back problems, and that led me to the Schroeders. Both Jorg and Jim are the greatest to deal with in my book....big props

Did anyone else happen to notice that on page 20 in the Feb. 2005
issue of Bass Player, that Chris Price, shown in the "Working Stiffs"
area, lists a Schroeder 21012 cabinet among his gear?
I hope more people will begin to notice, and therefore inquire
about Schroeders (other than just us TBer's).
I haven't been able to order my 1210 yet, but I'm WELL on the
bandwagon!
Just thought I'd give a head's up on this to all.

You are right ;) I forgot that Glock cost a lot more than 1210, but devided into 5 years depreciation well ...
Definetely 1210 is a keeper , easy to move too..
But I am very happy that I can switch between Glock and 1210. Thinking of selling my Acme , since I got another Glock Acoustic art for double bass,
