One wonders when the Schroeders will be reviewed in BP. If the floodgates aren't opened yet, THAT certainly will open them...

I'm actually gonna write them this week and see what the deal is. The 1210 is possibly one of the most versatile cabinets out there, if not ever. Of all the useless crap they've reviewed over the years, Jorg's stuff definitely deserves to be in there, no doubt.

And I saw that too in last month's issue. I'm submitting myself soon! ;)

Another kudos to Jorg.

For a guy whose product is the subject of a 1200+ post thread full of positive product reviews, he's probably the last guy who needs to buy a banner ad on this site. Jorg, you're a heck of a human as well as a cabinet builder. Very nice banner!

I can't wait til the 1212 my friend out here has ordered arrives so I can check it out!

Guess I could have read this entire thread but I'm pressed for time. Do you still own and like this cab? Does it have good tone at low volumes? Do you think a small GK 400-IV would compliment its sound (home use only)?

How long does it take to get a 1210?

Can I add one more rave to the pile?

My friend just picked up a 1212 at NAMM and he let me play it on an outdoor gig. As expected it smoked my usual Eden 2x10 and was even much louder than the Eden 2x10 with an Aguilar 1x12 I sometimes add which was more surprising. But more important than volume the tone was much nicer to my ears as it was deeper and thicker, not subsonic dub kind of lows, more low mids. With my Eden 400 amp it sounded very smooth and organic, perfect for funk, groove, rock, all the juicy stuff, probably not the right choice for a Mark King, Stu Hamm kind of sound but I didn't really try for that kind of sound.

I usually turn tweeters off but on this 1212 cab with the tweeter off it's actually a bit shy in the high end. Fortunately the tweeter is much nicer than my other tweeters (SWR, Eden, Aggie) so turning it on a bit sounds OK to me.

We also did some direct comparisons with my friends SWR SM500, he has an Aggie 1x15 and a newer Eden 2x10 and the 1212 alone was not louder but it cuts better and sounds fuller. So he's replacing 140 pounds of speakers for 48 pounds that sounds better, a rather nice trade.

The cab also seem very efficient as I had my little Eden set about 50% volume which is less than I usually have it at for outdoor stuff and I had tons of volume and headroom.

I want one of my own!!!

I've only ever used one GK and it was the little 80s combo that all the URB guys dig and about 15 years ago at least. I've used my 1210 with as little as 60 watts and dug the tone.

contact a dealer or Jorg directly... I honestly have no clue. I've had both mine a while now.

Elliott, I have an Eden WT 550....500 watts into 4 ohms. I've had problems hearing myself at some gigs so needed something else. I've never purchased something without hearing it first but all of the comments on this thread convinced me to do this.

I'm running the WT 550 head with my 1210 and I'm very pleased of the sound and output, so I think that the 1212 should be very similar in terms of sound and output. The WT 550 and the 1210 are a super small, portable package.

Wow, this whole mega-thread about cab-loudness.

How will the Schroeder 1210 match with my thunderfunk in a jazz/funk situation ? Everyone here talks about it as a replacement for their oh-so-huge ampeg rig, and I'm really not into that ampeg sound.
But I do want a portable, clean-sounding and somehow cutting cab. I really don't need to go VERY loud, though. Will a schroeder fit the bill?
All this raving about loudness worries me.

Do you guys prefer to not go PA? Basically, I like the sound best when everything goes through PA. Everything or nothing. A cab behind there and PA - speakers up front will sound unbalanced no matter how loud the cab is.
Just my 5 cents.

I think what he means is that many newer technology boxes
sound great when you can push even the smallest ones with
a lot of power, at a good volume. Its not easy to find a box
that sounds musical and efficient at a lower volume, and still
sounds good loud too. This is what I THINK he and I are saying.
