310212 still has to wait on cover's though... so the 21012 and 410 as well as the 1210, 1212 and 1010 are the only lucky ones right now...

I don't know if there is a cover man enough to fit the 310212 though......

Its was cool to meet face to face with all the guys that swung by the booth at NAMM!

The small box Schroeder is overkill for a practice only cab. It is louder than 95% of the 410s on the market. It is loud enough for almost any gig, except for large clubs and halls.

Funny thing is that I'm contemplating a Schroeder small box for a primarily practice / recording cab (I don't plan on gigging much, if ever). I'm all for a bit of overkill! Especially when the neighbors across the street are having another damn party that's still going at 2am when I'm trying to sleep. I can break out the gear and have some fun [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Hmm, if the 1210 is overkill for band pracs, i might just get one of them, or one bigger cab.. I'd rather not get two cabs, as that's where it gets pricey (i'm in Aus, so shipping is a thing here). The aguilar is still tempting though.. so big and powerfull. lol. Great tone too.

Can someone describe the tone between schroeder/aguilar? Also compare schroeder to SWR? (Using an SWR rig now - the amp).

I wouldn't say they're "overkill", especially depending what you're used to for practice volumes. Or do you mean for solo/home practice? Then yeah they're overkill, but arguably so would any 4 Ohm cab with two speakers be (though that too depends on what volumes you like). Better safe than sorry.

As for Aguilar comparisons, search within this thread. I wrote an extensive one comparing my 1212 to both a single and a pair of Aguilar GS112 cabs. Others have made comparisons between the two brands too, I think.

Yeah, sure. I sold "a guy" some equipment, mainly my Mesa 6x10 Diesel (which is still on the block now, apparently) who sent me a counterfeit cashier's check. So, it bounced yesterday, as it is in fact invalid, and I'd already purchased my 1210 from a fellow forumite, and damn- I don't even HAVE it yet! :( It's the crappiest of all situations, but that's what you get for trusting people. But at least I'm not out any equipment (except my new cab), and that's something to hold onto. I have the Fed's and a few others involved, so we'll see what happens. I know most of it was my fault, but, given the circumstances, about 8 of 10 people, regardless of what they say now, would've done the same. It was just really, really good...

I took my new 1210 to open mike at a fairly large club, and got to play both with and without FOH support. I've had problems with intelligibility onstage in this place sometimes when sound deWd gets the 18" subs cranking, so this is one thing I was hoping the Schroeder cab would improve. I played a wide variety of styles: country ballads w/ one acoustic guitar, jazzy blues, straight-up rock, fusion, funk, and finally, some hip-hop at the end, which I did without the FOH feed. At some points there were three very loud guitars, plus sax and vocals happening. Bass was my custom Crescent Moon fretless 4 stringer, amp was an iAmp800. I brought a homemade EV TL606 cab along, thinking I might pair the two cabs and see how that works.

Bottom line: I sold both my TL606 cabs last night to another bassist, and I never even considered plugging one in myself. Those are very good sounding cabs too. There have been tons of descriptions of the 1210's tone in this thread, so I'll just say that a skeptic has been thoroughly impressed. I expected it to work well as a top cab, but it's a winner for standalone duty, for what I need at least. It sounded great with my EUB at home, and next week I'll give that a shot in the club.

It took me 3 days to read through this thread,
and after doing a little experimenting this weekend
with my existing cabinets, I'm thoroughly convinced
that a 1210 would do everything I need. I've been
visiting the Schroeder website and mentally putting
myself in that time when I finally get to order.
I'll be replacing a 1x15 & 2x10 stack with it.
Thank you to all of you who have contributed
to this thread with not only vast technical information,
but also with heartfelt, honest first-hand experiences.
I haven't been real happy with my sound for a LONG
time, and now I believe I've found a possible answer.
The Talkbass community is an incredible resource.

I got my Schroeder from a TB member on Friday. However, I didn't want to post considering I had some scammer hit me pretty hard with a PERFECTLY thought out process, which I thought I was going to have to sell my brand new cab to make up some of the funds, which I'd used TO buy the cab.

Buuuuttttt..... I woke up this morning, and someone had already sent me the cash for my Mesa, which was on fleaBay, via PayPal, so I indeed get to keep it!!!

For the few minutes I was able to play through it so far, it already has MORE volume at the same amp level than my 6x10 does. Barely, but somewhat noticeable still. I can't wait to get my pre/power setup and add a 1212. It's unreal. I can't wait to practice more on it today and gig it next weekend on two medium-large venues. It shall be amazing. More after I play through it some.

After reading all of this information, maybe I'm on overload
or somehting, but I don't understand something.
If I have a 1210, and it has two speakers, and my amp has
two outputs, do I run one side of my amp to the 12,
and the other side of my amp to the 10?
Or do I run my amp bridged into on input on the back of the 1210?
It's hard to see on the Schroeder website (the back panel i mean).
And if I only run one output from my amp is the wattage automatically
divided by the cabinet? The two speakers have different wattage
ratings.

Here's what I got from the website. ( I hope it's OK to do this):
# One 10" cast frame woofer, 350 Watts RMS with 56 oz. Magnets,
Vented pole pieces, 2.5" voice coils.
# One 12" cast frame woofer, 500 Watts RMS with 65oz Magnets,
vented pole pieces

If anyone could explain this in Layman's terms please,
it would be greatly appreciated.

simple, like every other cabinet I know... you plug a single power source into it. The second jack it to hook a second cabinet in parallel (2x 4 ohm cabinets hooked this way = a 2 ohm load).

the power is distributed out of the crossover between the tweeter and drivers.
