Go Epiphone! Considering swapping my neck pickup too. It sounds good but needs severe eq to do it- bass at 0, mids at 3:00, treble near full.
I don't mind the bridge, but got to move the strap pin as dive is bugging my wrist and shoulder.
Wondering if a Mustang style will fit the chrome cover, and what all pickups have been tried in neck spot.

I have a thunderbird in the middle/bridge side. I like it.

Anybody ever made a list of pickups that are compatible for string spacing of EB 0? I remember somewhere back in the thread some have put different pickups under the chrome cover at the neck.

I don't think my mud pickup is what some would call "authentic" as it is a pretty newish Epiphone, but I like it other than having to eq drastically. Maybe I will try to do something with a cap and resistor to tweak that.

I did some eyeball measuring with a ruler on my newish Epiphone EB 0. I am no pro! Measurements meant for entertainment purposes only.
All measurements are center to center
1.75mm or 11/16" at the bridge. 2-1/16" over all.
A hair over 1.5mm or 19/32" (strings) at the neck pickup. 4.6mm or 1-13/16 over all
1.6mm or 5/8" on neck pickup cover holes. 4.8mm (ish), 1-7/8" (ish) over all.

Neck pickup cover appears to have 5mm holes spaced 10mm apart.

Again these are not specs! Eyeball measurements (I did wear my glasses though.)

Spent all morning staring at images of Melody Makers and decided to give the old KB-1 a new headshot!

This has turned into my go-to over the past few weeks- sold all of my other basses to fund a new build (which should be in my hands in less than a week and a half!)
What's funny is that this Kalamazoo is probably the thinnest bass I've ever played, at 1 1/8" thickness— but my new bass will be even thinner (3/4") but made of solid aluminum!)

Beautiful instrument. Incredible tone. Makes me say YIKES! But I think that must be the intended effect, so mission accomplished.

BTW you're right about not talking. Words pale in comparison to listening when it comes to sound.

Thank you very much, Im glad it worked out as I envisioned and I was able to preserve a fraction of my EB3's soul through sound.:)

Nifty little thing--ended up using it on some demos while it was at my house.

To this day I still say "Kalamazoo!" out loud whenever I run across that bass's tug bar in my parts collection.

Sweet! Yeah I've been pondering adding another pickup in the P position (the body's already routed under the pickguard for a second pickup and two more knobs, pretty convenient!)
Really dig the blue myself. Apparently it's officially called "Las Vegas Blue" and only 1382 were made between '66-'69.
Mine's in such good shape that I'm probably just gonna leave it stock and keep it handy around the house. It's a joy to play!

I actually bought my Broughton HPF for using my SG bass live. After testing at my computer I left it there (don't play the SG out a lot). I guess I need to buy another. Any recommendations? Thinking about the Broughton HPF/LPF but am broke for the foreseeable future.

I've been using the high pass filter strategy for a long time now. In the past I have used an onboard crossover to remove the lows. I have used on board equalizers to remove lows. Dismissing unwanted low end is the first stage of any bass equalization for me.
So far I haven't needed to purchase an external device to accomplish it.
