Your request for a photo which includes the serial number is totally legitimate. I can't see any good reason for the buyer refusing to cooperate - except to cover up dishonest behaviour on his part.

...... unless there was something floating around in the case in transit.
I don't see how you can have that kind of damage while it was packed inside a hard shell case. Something fishy there. He's asking for a return. I've only seen pictures of the bass. The claim with reverb has just been filed this morning after I denied a full refund. I argued that this isn't the bass I sent so I asked him to show me the damage and SN in one shot. He declined and said it's in Reverb's hands now. I don't know what to believe. I asked to see pictures of the box. I can tell if the box was opened and repacked. I tape my boxes a weird way. I also keep track on how I restring the bass. I know which ones were string though the body and which weren't.
Yes. the shape of the damage is intriguing. Very good thought here.... and that would demystify everything except the lake of photo with serial numberIt does look like the same bass to me, and it does appear that that one ding on the lower horn might have already been there. I notice the bass has Dunlop strap lock buttons installed. You didn’t happen to leave the strap locks unsecured, or perhaps ship it with the original strap buttons unsecured did you? To me, it looks like a strap button may have been flying around in that case and at one point was at the bottom of the case and the bass landed on it. In that case it would indeed be shipping damage, and might not be covered since it would be due to bad packaging. Not trying to attack you or say you did anything wrong, just trying to explore all avenues here. Hope everything works out for you, man.
I'm sorry... A ding I missed... I know every ding on all my basses... You make me laugh...That may be a ding I missed. I’m not sure if that was a ding though. My current strap leaves brown pieces all over the place because I need a new one. If I didn’t dust or blow off the bass before taking that photo then it would look like a ding. I can’t really see it in other pictures at different angles. Now the other dings were not on the bass nor my pictures.

Really! A small spec that you could barely photograph or rub over and feel is not difficult to miss? I take it you haven’t owned many basses? I don’t know every small ding that’s 1x10^-4 mm big. But I won’t miss those big dents that the buyer or someone put in a brand new bass. I honestly care more about the back of the neck on my bass. I can’t stand any dings on the back of the neckI'm sorry... A ding I missed... I know every ding on all my basses... You make me laugh...![]()
Is it coincidence or does the buyer have the same carpet as you have? (bottom right corner of the pic.)
