Should I Get Another P- Bass ?

I'm as big a fan of the P bass as there is(I own 4 or 5 of them), but have to disagree with you there... In order to properly cover many of today's country songs, one needs a 5 string - and one of the main reasons why I get the call for the acoustic quartet is because I can bring and play a good quality AEB... Think what you may, but depending on the quality($$$) of those gigs - you'd be wrong...
I respect that and if you need a B string and/or authentic urb tone, then I support your point.
I'm only saying, I can't think of a single electric bass other than the P that can approach and/or satisfy these gigs. Perhaps a P5 would get you even closer.

Why not go for a bass with a P/J figuration?

Maybe even a short scale?

Really happy with my Ibanez Mikro, which is equipped with a pair of P/J EMG Geezer Butler pickups.

The first bass too I ever owned with a both either classic J or P pickup.

Yeah modern country pretty much call for a 5-string, although I fared pretty well in a country cover band that did old/new stuff with a 4-string PJ Bass, and an octave pedal.

A P5 would get it all done, except for the acoustic gig - but I have to say that playing a 5er for a classic rock gig that never goes below E standard would become much more work than is needed... In the end, for some of the gigs *I* play, "close enough" will end up with someone else getting the call next time - at a certain pay level, people want the job done properly, not just "close enough"... I don't pretend to speak for anyone else, but at this stage of the game I bring what suits the gig the best, and am well equipped for any of the situations I get booked for...
