ATTACH=full]4526650[/ATTACH] Letting this thread Die would be a Sin against Mankind.........so by tying it to something which has puzzled me about TB since I joined decades ago......I offer you "Kipp's Kapers"......Volume 1.

One of the things I find interesting is the way that quite a few TB members say that THEY Endorse various Brands. It's quite different today than it used to be. I've been a SUNN amp guy since two brothers from the West Coast and their A.R. guy walked into the music store I was working at in Massachusetts, dragged in a couple of 60 No typo--SIXTY WATTS) :) watt Sunn 200S Tube Bass amps and Blew the store apart....which is Related to Kipps Growing Reputation as a "Bottom End Blaster" and he's becoming Internationally famous in his own right...as is his delightful wife. :)

Minutes ago I was just going through some records/files from my past and I came across these....... THIS is what "Endorsing" used to involve. #180degreeshift #thewho #buffalospringfield #kippskapers #readtheentirethread

That's interesting!.......I know John and Pete started to use Sunn amps around 1967-1968 but Pete stopped using them and switched to Hiwatt and John followed and then John switched back to Sunn in the 70's were he had a wall of Sunn amps/cabs onstage, and he was using Sunn amps when they were credited with being the loudest band in the world after the 1976 Charlton gig in London. Great amps, and not just because John used them!

I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it's getting in the way of your playing. make up a good story on how it got there, it may get a good laugh. before too long there will be a lot of scrapes, scuffs, scratches, chips, dents, dings and other imperfections. each one with its own story to remember.

Making up a story about how it got there? A much better story would be about how this thread got so long. My first post was back on page 14 I believe...apologizing that I hadn't read all the posts to that point but offering that "a good luthier" could make it go away."

Well, here I am on page 15 and I see there are at least 2 more pages of posts to read. Apologizing in advance, I'm not planning to read them all but has anyone else offered the same advice about a good luthier? Is the OP taking ANY advice? Will he or won't he? Oh the suspense.... Someone will perhaps rag on me for not reading them all and I'm surprising myself that I keep chiming in, but heck, I'm skipping to the end and perhaps will take bets that this thread will go several pages past 17. The mods might think it over and print a thoughtful summary of how we came this far...

@Roger Mouton ... Actually several pages ago, the OP aired what appears to be a final decision - Keep The Bass! :) That said, there are many TB-rs still offering interesting anecdotes, opinions, etc... that are entertaining all of us (perhaps Kipp, the OP too) as he's chimed in since then as well...

He said awhile back he is keeping it. It’s a good thing too. At this point, it is the most important bass anyone is talking about anywhere.

That could be the topic for a whole another thread. If you you could go back in time and play with any band, musician, what gear etc. Then someone from the past might want to go to the future and play the Worm Bass.I dig the posters, cool.

Bruce.....those posters are in fact photographs which may or may not have been taken on my State of the Art 1996 Samsung Phone. The high point of this NAMM show for me took place when Jimi's Dad, "Al", was walking by my 10' by 10' "office" at the 1997 NAMM Show....looking rather beat. I invited him in and we spent the next two hours talking about Jimi, life in general, the state of Music...possibly Kipp and the Notorious "Wimbly-Wombly Worm Bass" ...that part is kinda Fuzzy.....and then mid-sentence, Al went to sleep. I was stuck cuz if I moved, or even passed gas in those cramped quarters Al would have been awakened....and so I sat....motionless. The Man was absolutely Fantastic. He died in 2002. His presence for those few hours was a Life Changer for me..... as the "Warrior Worm" has become for Kipp.

My wife got me a wonderful Squier CV 50s P bass for Christmas. Been playing it for a few hours the past 2 days and have fallen in love with it!

Last night I decided to give it a nice cleaning and discover a blem/imperfection on the fretboard. It's not even noticeable from a couple feet away but I can barely feel a very slight "dip" in the wood where it is located. I also discovered a tiny, tiny blemish on the body (this really doesn't bother me) and some minor wear marks on the control plate.

What do you guys think and have you ever seen a "mark" that looks like this on a fretboard?

I appreciate any suggestions, opinions or advice.

Two thoughts:
1) Does it affect the playability or sound?
2) And most importantly, do you love your wife??
Hell no, keep it and enjoy playing it. I purposely buy used guitars, knowing damage is going to occur, even in the house (I have 4 pups) and the discounted price for "character" is way cool.

Kipp, glad to hear you're keeping it. I never once had a wife that loved me enough, thought enough of my talent or let alone my desire, to buy me any sort of instrument, although there were plenty of snide remarks made, that I will keep to myself. You gotta two keepers there my man, both Bass and wife!!
