Show me your compact pedalboard setup

This should be a keeper :)

I feel like my board, even when it's small like this, is changing all the time. So we'll see how long this lasts. I don't know where else I could possibly go though without increasing my space. I'm happy to get my hands on a small Bass Comp. I've always loved the tone it gives, but the size and power requirements made it tricky to keep on boards.

Pedalboard for a busy weekend 2 jam sessions and a 70-80's funk/dance/oldies private party. A real mix of old and new got two old pedals that are bona fide 80's world travelers literally ripped out of the old case the Boss PSM5 with a buffer added* and the Ibanes CS9 my fave chorus. In the PSM5 loop are the TCE SUb N Up Mini, Mel9, SA Aftershock, BassBalls 3 knob, Digitech BSW- loop return.

*One of the many hats I wore at Showco was putting together effects pedal boards and rack systems for touring artists. I remember grabbing one of these little beauties for myself early on and started using them on boards i put together along with an MXR Noise Gate Line Driver. That pairing resulted in quieter pedal boards that suffered less insertion loss because of the line driver or as they are referred today as buffer. So the tech's at Showco started modding the PSM5 by adding a buffer circuit.

No changes at this point from my last layout change, but I DID upgrade power to a Truetone CS6 which tucks nicely under my Metro20 board. My only complaint is that the supplied screws have HUGE heads, which made my pedals sit funny... that was easily remedied at the hardware store. I LOVE what this power supply has done for me, I no longer get a loud hum (thanks to shared power with my EHX SuperEgo) and no longer needing a separate 18V power supply for the ToneHammer. I can't wait to take this to practice tomorrow!!!

Are any of you using a Chorus AND a Phaser on your board? Is there too much overlap there?

I almost ALWAYS have a chorus (EBS) and phaser (MXR) on my board. There's some overlap sonically, but I wind up using them in very different manners. (I know the EBS is unplugged in this pic)

I have a Southampton Pedals Utility Knife, Chorus, Flanger and Phaser in one easy to use pedal (tremelo too but I don't think that is something to use for bass). Simple depth and rate controls, makes a bit of a snapping noise when you switch between modes so not really designed to switch between them mid song. A tad pricey but to have all these in one space saving easy to use pedal is worth it IMHO. I have it on my Pedaltrain Jr but would be useful on a compact board.

In your opinion, what’s the appropriate use for each?

Yikes... that's a loaded question. I tend to use the phaser a lot to give a little more interest in tunes where I'm not play a ton of notes (mostly holding roots and changes). I use the chorus with a slower, shallow setting on tunes where I'm playing more melodic stuff, and with that I tend to use a very fast delay with almost no repeats. The only thing I don't use a lot is the filter, but I use the chorus with the sub-n-up quite a bit to blend the octave into my tone a bit more.... I hope some of that makes sense. :) (the EBS uni-chorus can also be used for modulation or flange)

The octave/chorus thing makes sense. I feel like I could make my Octave stand out a bit more and maybe a chorus could do that.

Background: I just got a 2 for 1 deal on a phase 90 clone and a Boss CE-2 clone.
