Show me your compact pedalboard setup

I only got the V2 because my V1 crapped out on me after over 15 years. I love the V2--I think the 18v does "something" to the sound--maybe more "open" (whatever that means!). I rarely use the second Gain stage, but it is cool. Of course I have my comp after it so that affects how I can use it but I have kicked it on for solos and it does give me a little extra oomph. The RC is indispensable for my sound I want to send FOH. I record with it too, love it.
Thanks! Ahh good point re the 18v, that's a awesome. That's cool, I'll def consider changing things up one day.

My compact board. Wish it were more compact but I can't use more than the front row of pedals on a pedal board (otherwise I fall over trying to reach them!) and I also need adequate space between the pedal switches.

Is it a coincidence that both VT DIs (for FOH and IEM) use the same settings?
Hi Gillento. On stage I have my own personal mixer into which one of my VT DIs goes via its DI output. In my monitor mix of the other instruments I ask not to have any bass signal present. This means I can always mix in how much bass I want with the other instruments without being at the mercy of the sound guy or trying to get their attention.

The reason I have two VTDIs is that despite them having two outputs: an XLR DI output and a 1/4" output, I can hear a difference between them! The DI outputs always seems to have a deeper sub-sonic bass element that the 1/4" outputs lack. I could probably just live with that 'lower bass content' 1/4" output feed going into my personal mixer and in ears (even adding in a little extra bass on the mixer channel strip) but I'm also putting my tuner / mute just before the FOH VT DI unit. This means I can still tune in silence for the public, yet always hear myself in my in ears. This helps me check/balance my in ear volumes with the other instruments while not playing or I can even practice/audition my parts before I start playing or during an intro in which there is no bass.

I just finished putting together that lower board this morning. I figured I'd replace the chorus with the MXR Synth once it become available again. But after fiddling with the board this morning, I think I'll have to do a bit more to it. It sounds pretty gruesome. MXR used to be top notch in my mind. I don't think their quality has gone down, it's that other brands have really stepped up their game. That top board, with the Genzler stuff really sounds great. And the Brighton/Empress combo also rocks. So I may end up just replacing the HX One for the MXR Synth and go with that. We'll see. I'll play with the MXR stuff a little while longer to see if I can get a descent sound out of it before I disassemble it. It's got a DC-7 powering it and the board itself is a Pedaltrain Nano+, so the bones are good, and I like the Turbo Tuner. Not to mention the LED lights on the 10 band EQ burn out my eye balls...

Very cool! I like simplicity as well. Do you use backline or does this go right to FOH and into in-ears?
Yeah, I just don't need anything other than a good solid classic bass sound for all my current gigs. I want to sound like I'm tracking DI in the studio--that's what I want to send FOH. The amp is out of the equation for what I send FOH, whether it's my own, backline, or no amp (unless for some reason I'm forced to DI out the back of a backline amp but I rarely encounter that).

Posted this earlier but…Love the Kasleder jellyfish but the grizzly wins for versatility.

I has been set with this config for a long time now. I programmed patches for chorus, autowah, and a dry channel on the mxr. The dry channel has nothing but the global noise gate, which is useful when using an obnoxious single coil bass and cranking compression or gain. I love how the mxr does the few synth/octave sounds I need and now covers for other functions.
Having a paraEQ near the end allows for minute final corrections for the room/cabinet/amp whatever.

Updated version of my small board, could not for the life of me find a good low gain/edge of breakup sound on the stomp so the sushibox goes back on. I also have a 1073 clone underneath the board that it’s running into, probably the best tone I’ve gotten to date
Have you tried the Retro Reel? Set the wow/flutter to 1 or lower and crank the saturation and texture.

Three things Chad:

1. I saw John Mayer with Sean Hurley last night at The Pilgrimage Music festival in Nashville. It was 🔥🔥‼️

2. No more Sushi Box Neptunium?

3. Done with your HX Stomp?
1. Sean Hurley is definitely one of my bass heroes!

2. Everything gone after I settled with this board.

3. I’m happier with what I can do with the Anagram compared to my Stomp so bye bye Stomp :)
