Show me your compact pedalboard setup

The latest update to my board as the jam project moves further into the surfy territory. The 5F6 Formula which replaced my Linden (beautiful pedal I will not get rid off!) is juiced up with 18V and injects massive amounts of headroom to the signal chain. The note definition at high volume is so focused and detailed yet never sterile. Sounds great on both guitar & bass, I’m loving it so far 🔥

Tell us more about the Big Muff 2. No clean blend, no problem?
I really dig it so far. It’s not making any unwanted noise. I have it first in the chain with a touch of compressor after. The Muff 2 has massive headroom… I’ve got the volume a little shy of 9 o’clock. There’s definitely a sweet spot on the Op Amp dial, around 10 o’clock. Past noon it gets real spitty and loses low end, like Gary from EQD. But I think it’s a great-sounding pedal. I tried it back to back with EQD Barrows… totally different deal but also pretty cool.

That’s cool. I’m thinking about doing the same with a MS-60b+. Does the UA or the Finally give you better tube break up overdrive?

I don’t really need a DI.
Yes, On the UA, if I increase the gain on the Zoom pedal it will. I generally play clean though. I like this Zoom pedal because it has all I need as far as effects I find it easier to navigate and change patches compared to the MS-60b+
I just run the Finally clean all the time.

Assuming you have the same tubes, you can get the same out of either one. I’m fairly certain the basic gain/vol circuit is identical. Just depends on if you want it paired with optional EQ or optional HPF.

The stock tube on the UA will give you a lot more gain/drive vs the Finally, which is meant to stay clean with its lower gain tube. There’s no reason you can’t swap those.

I guess it’s also worth noting that the UA is foot-switchable and the Finally is intended to be always on.

Are you using the Spectrum and the C4 each for one single sound?
I have my Spectrum set up so that I can swap between Octave and Envelope using the "long press".
Im still getting a grip on how best to utilize all of my Source Audio pedals. I've come to understand that I could very likely achieve all the sounds I'm looking for on just 1 or 2 pedals.

I also own an Aftershock and Ultrawave. I purchased all of them used for a great price, so i went ahead and grabbed them. I know the Ultrawave can achieve a lot of the same drive sounds as the Aftershock. Im getting more familiar with them so I can see myself downsizing at some point.

That's funny, I was using the Barrows on bass for a series of weird Halloween covers gigs and I also have the pair of Big Muff 2s. Totally different, but both are great on bass with no need for a blend, just need to find the bass-friendly sweet spots.
