Show us your Bass with Tremolo Bridge

please excuse my ignorance (were all here to learn, right ? ) but where is the routing for the springs in the back ? are the springs somehow contained within the bridge ? what modifications would I have to make to my bass to be able to put a tremolo bridge on it ?

AHA! thanks...do you happen to have a picture of the backside of the bridge ? also, what is that wire coming from the bridge ? is that a piezoelectic bridge (i think thats what they called them)?

I have no pic of the underside, but there's three springs, connected to the bass, and to the rolling bar the trem arm is attached to.

The wire is just a standard ground, like on any bass.

One of my next basses is going to be set up as an "Effects Bass" (hopefully on a Spector ReBop, using Dave LaRue's old "live" Kahler-equipped Spector as seen on the cover of his [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] as a model) with a Kahler trem and a Bass Sustainaic sustainer pickup to simulate bowed Cello-type sounds when played clean and distorted lead lines when used with effects.

i was told about that sustainer pickup system awhile ago but once i saw the headstock wiring system i passed - i break that thing quickly! .....theres gotta be another way to get those effects / sounds ??

i was told about that sustainer pickup system awhile ago but once i saw the headstock wiring system i passed - i break that thing quickly! .....theres gotta be another way to get those effects / sounds ??

Yeah, you get the one thats just a pickup, up close to the neck, which vibrates the strings, nothing near the headstock.

A cleaner hole- Its what we all prefer in the end

Its 1" deep, but I had to take the whole area down about 1/4" - you can see the faint Kahler outline.

Used to have a 1984 BC Rich Warlock with a Kahler... the trem was great... shame the neck on it was shot to hell.
