ya know, the tremolos are interesting, but what i was more curios about coming in here was what kind of non-hairmetal basses (love those too, dont get me wrong) are these guys putting them in. AAnyone who wants a bass trem must by default like to go outside the norm a bit. Some of these things I am seeing are just cool as ****. THat blue hollowbody is amazing. And mobeach, besides having my favorite fretless ever as your avatar (right color and pups too) that custom jazz is georgous. I want all of these. Your only out in the cape????

My avatar is my favorite bass as well, the P/J with the hipshot trem comes in second, but as I say, different tools for different jobs. I'm in Bourne, just onto the cape. 40 minutes south of where Pedulla's are created:smug:

There are basses that come stock with trems, but they aren't cheap. Still, they are really nice basses:

And Gretsch makes both a bass and a baritone guitar that feature a Bigsby guitar tremolo that has been modified for bass. Both Stanley Clarke and John Entwistle used basses that had modified Bigsby's on them.

Yes, it can accomodate to 22.225mm string spacing for a 5 string.

The kahler 7415 and the 7416 are the same model but with one more saddle for the 6 string.

4 string max spacing on 7410*: 16.963mm

5 string max spacing on 7410*: 12.70mm

4 string max spacing on 7415: 29.63mm

5 string max spacing on 7415: 22.225mm

6 string max spacing on 7416: 17.78mm

7 string max spacing on 7416: 14.816mm

But I am doubting that all the measurements are true, especially on the 7410.

Wow...okay I can't believe I haven't seen this thread before. But we were just talking about the Sustainiac on the BTF, so I did a little search and found this. Hot damn, I really want a Sustainiac. Not sure which bass I want it in, though! I am planning a Warmoth project. I think that a Sustainiac would be the perfect neck pickup for what I'm planning. :cool:

The Hamer (not sure of the year)...I got the trem from Erich last summer and I got that bass specifically to work with the trem. Works fantastic, but it needs a new nut and for the trem to be recessed. I might swap out the J pickup for a Jackson guitar humbucker at some point.

The custom shop Kelly I got last December. Made in 1985 for Matt Thor, it slays, except the strings bind like hell in the nut when you use the trem or even when you're just tuning the thing. But oh well. Everything else is out of this world, which is why I have it.

And the Destroyer? That's up next for Kahlerization! And possibly a sustainiac. :D

A trem won't work on every bass. That's a matter of fact, especially since there isn't a top lock system for bass guitar...yet!! *nods at erich*

ya you didn't say me, cause I'm already part of this thread, and my Jackson stays in tune :)

and holyHell 6 months already for the KellyNT, It seems like a few weeks ago :D

Yep! You, Mo, Noob, Dark, Eric, Barkless...am I missing anyone?

I wish that it could stay in tune! Doing a dive and coming back up in tune on that bass would blow my mind. It sounds so incredible, I just wish it would stay in tune. Recessed Kahler and all. But the strings bind in the nut when I'm tuning it, even, and make that "click" as they pop over whatever was causing them to hang up. You get that a lot on acoustic guitars with bone nuts, you know? But it's very annoying (to the point where the trem isn't really useable) when you're trying to do a subtle vibrato and you're playing through a cranked Mesa stack and then the strings are going "click" and "pop" all over the place as your bass gets more and more out of tune. Forget about doing a dive...

Yeah...that's just 'cos I blabber on and on about the thing like it's the messiah. :spit:

Oh yeah you showed us that when it was up! That bass is so sick...
