1992 Ducati 900SS: V2 Pistons and Cams, Keihin flatslides, Ferraci Exhaust, Frentubo brake lines, as much carbon fibre as I could put on it. Basically an engine, frame and two wheels...90hp/70ft-lbs of sweeeet.

wow, talk about a GAS inducing thread

been riding all my life, started racing moto-x back when the tracks were dominated by a guy named Roger DeCoster ( )

built a number of bikes, a '72 XLCH, ( thing about rattled my molars out :rollno: ) & a killer '68 Triumph T-120R, ahhh, 750 Morgo kit, belt drive primary, Mikuni carbs, magneto,

bought my first new V-twin while in the Air Force in Montana a '79 FXS Low Rider, every weekend would be spent out on the Continental Divide, or Yellowstone, Glacier, & then hitting Sturgis in august,,, woot

have had a few Yamaha's that were great, an '86 Venture Royalle, & a '86 V-Max, ( that i rode the #### out of ) :D

never was caught up in the american vs whatever crap,, save that for the posers, i just liked to ride

currently no bike :bawl:

but

will be getting a sizeable settlement soon

so

hello GSXR1300 Hayabusa :hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper::hyper:

can't wait

all these twisty curvey roads out here in northern cali on a 'Busa

:D:D:D

ohhhh!!! silver ducati  that's nice.

It rides great, but it just depends on what you're looking for.

My wife has one just like it but with mid controls, and with a 180 rear instead of a 240 (and gloss paint instead of flat). Her's is setup way better for hard riding.

first of all, i hate you. i had a free test ride last month and wanted to ride the v-rod but my legs were too short.

second, how does your wife have one with mid controls? are they aftermarket. how much did they cost. the only one i know of with mid controls is the street rod but it has a much higher seat. which, in the picture, her's doesn't appear to have. i'd love to have a v-rod if i could reach.

Here's my project Buell XB Chop, it's complete for now, this winter it will get taken back apart and the frame powdercoated and the tins (gas tank and fender) painted nice not sure what color yet, just know it will have a lot of large metal flake.:bassist: It's been a joy to finally ride it.

for me, anything with two wheels and a motor counts. you take just as much of a risk out there as i do. in my mind you take more of a risk because you can't get out of the way as fast as i can.

i'll post a pick of my bike later tonight. great thread.

this was my first bike. it was given to me by a friend. i'm now trying to get it up and running again to sell it.

this is my new bike. here is what it looked like when i first got it.

here is what it looks like now (minus the givi top case)
HPIM1630.jpg

as you can see i put the original turn signals and rear fender back on (just couldn't see the flush mounted stuff as well), got a NICE new seat, givi top case, highway pegs and handguards. only other stuff i want to do is get a taller windshield for winter riding. then there's some extras that i don't need but would like... stabel horn, tank slapper tank cover and an acumen voltmeter/gear indicator. but that will all have to wait. for now, i'll just enjoy riding it. :hyper:

Hmmmmm.....Chef eh, must account for such good taste, I love those half faired SS's

Here's my 1993 888

Like a real Italian mistress, raw, passionate and tempremental

And my 2001 ST2 just pitching in to Barn Corner at Cadwell Park on a trackday

JoolsatBarn-1.jpg

People really underestimate the humble 85 bhp ST2, but it tours well, does country roads well, and even punches above it's weight on track. On that particular trackday I was interviewed by Bike magazine because my ST2 was giving one of their journalists a hard time catching me on their 1098S

Great snap; and:
it's mostly the rider, and not the bike, given that the bike is more or less decent.

I used to give all kinds of people fits at track days on my old Yamaha RZ350 two stroke.

I remember having a conversation with an ST2 rider one day on the blue ridge parkway. He couldn't gush enough about his bike. :) Looks pretty, too!

So, my bike still isn't completely ready. Tank is being boiled out to remove the crappy old liner. Bike then needs new tires and a new seat cover. Just a few days away. Hurrah!

Anyway, anyone know a good BMW salvage site? I need BMW R80 battery box covers.

The "Night Rod" variant of the v-rod, from 2006-2008, includes the "D" model that comes standard with mid pegs. They discontinued it in 2009.

My bike is the "DX" model, or Night Rod Special, which has forward controls and a 240mm rear tire instead of 180mm.
