View attachment 4592088 View attachment 4592089 View attachment 4592090 I have been told I could find a Squier 50's Precision lot less than doing one like this 50's Precision project? But always seem enthused about doing one for myself. Have put together two or three,of these. Black stained satin finish nice ash body,with vintage tint maple loaded neck, from Stratosphere(no affiliation). Neck and body should be here next week? Got the body,off of TBer here,some may have seen. Looking forward to getting it put together. Anyone View attachment 4592050 View attachment 4592051 View attachment 4592052 have any recommendations on strings? I have a extra set of roundwounds,not sure of the brand.
Looks like fun to me man.

After waiting until unfinished neck gets here,it finally got here. I applied 4 coats of Danish wipe on stain,let it dry over 12hrs,don't look too bad. Did not want it too dark,can said dark walnut stain. Waiting on bridge,and tuners now. Neck sits in pocket real good,no gaps,real tight fit,which is good. Heel of neck sits in real close to the body in the pocket. Truss rod screw,is at heel of the neck. Might have to route a place to adjust truss rod,in the body? Grain in the body,looks like some Fenders model with grain really noticeable. 34 inch scale,just measured.

That look really good man. Great so far. They look better and better with each new part when putting them together. That's the fun part.

Fretboard looked like it was too dry? Decided to wipe some of the Danish stain on to the fretboard,and looks better to me. Got this 51 style loaded body,off TBer on here. Body has the sandblasted type finish,with woodgrain brought out by black satin finish. Decided to go with different style bridge than the one previous owner had on there. Picture didn't bring out the wood grain,like really is in person.

Thanks,seems like the fretboard is real dry looking. Thinking about applying some of the Danish stain on fretboard to darken it up some?

I wouldn't put the danish oil on the fretboard. I did that on a guitar (used tru oil) and ended up scraping it off because it was too slick/hard feeling. I'd use feed n wax or whatever else you use to lube up the fretboard.

Is that the stock pickup?
FYI: If it is too noisey or not strong enough;
Check out Lindy Fralin. They make hum-bucking telebass single coils with different windings available.
Enjoy your new Bass!

Thanks,Previous owner said it is Seymour-Duncan SCPB-1. Waiting on Wilkinson top or body through bridge to mount when it gets here. Have a set of MIM tuners to mount on the neck.

Not trying to be a pest,but received tuners MIM from an individual,but the ferrules are too big,and don't want to force them. Tried to ream the hole out some,but trying not to damage the neck. Seller said they were 11/16" but thinking they should be 1/2". Still waiting for the bridge to be delivered. Getting tuners on came to grinding halt! May end up having to order set of tuners with ferrules that fit a Allparts neck.
