Well...you have good taste in bass guitars...

:)

Yeah, your other stuff is OK, too.

lo-freq,
Those SVT II non-pros are great amps! If it wasn't for the Aguilar DB750 I'd be playing my SVT II also.
:^) dD

I was being facetious; I know a lot of people like them.

That is rock tone for a lot of people and I think that's fine.

I've never played through one, but I'm sure I'd like the tone for some stuff.

I'm mostly a solid-state type of guy (at least good SS -- some SS amps sound crappy or ball-less or both).

Yea, those Ampeg tube amps really have a rock tone, you're right. I haven't had the opportunity to play EAs yet but I hear they're phenominal! My Aggie DB750 has the best of both worlds IMHO. A friend of mine got an EA800. He says it's the best. LOL! To each his own. I'll bet your EA600 sounds great with the SR5 too!

Between the 600 and my EA CX-310, the SR5 sounds like a $5000 bass guitar (very solid, punchy, and a rich, focused, pristine harmonic presence).

straight into a fridge 810 cab with little eq, they are THE
rock tone. however i have found with a modern cab,
plus using the ultra low switch for a scooped sound, plus a
little bit of EQ, -------BAM. you get a modern sound, silky,
buttery, with oodles of headroom!
