You might ask what is special about a natural P bass? Well, as far as I know, these where the only natural MIM P basses. They where a special edition for GC.... which means none where available in Canada.

I had to smuggle it over the boarder disguised as a hockey stick

No, just kidding. It was brazenly shipped across the border!

Nice old thread somebody resurrected! OK, I'm cheating, but only a little. SX has not gotten rid of LPB but sometime after they changed the headstock, they darkened it. I have never had any of my old headstock, old LPB basses next to a Fender but IMO, the old LPB is closer to the real thing.

Ummmmmm, give me a minute to think about it. :D

It's not necessarily my favorite color but you gotta admit, it's a nice one. What first got my attention was the fact that it was the only SX bass rondo sold with a matching headstock. Apparently, however, it wasn't one of the best-selling colors because, next thing I know, kurt had dropped the price of a couple lpbs to $99. The rest, the rest as they say is history. I have what I believe to be a complete set of rondo SX long scale basses.

And before somebody asks, there are NO duplicates in my set. The ones without inlays are fretless, and the second one from the left on the back row is a P body (rondo called it a 5 string P).

I also have a see-through green ash Elite I, but I have to take a decent picture of the thing.
