Nope, it's not the original logo, the original '78 (headstock) logo looks like this:

I bought the '78 from Rock'n'Robin Guitars in Houston in 1984.
Some wannabe punkers had spray bombed it, painted the headstock, and generally beat the crap out of it, but hadn't actually played it.
Since '84 it's been refinished at least three times with the headstock decal being replaced over 20 years ago. All I could find at the time was the '68-75 decals, so I snagged one.
Michael Dolan rewound the original pups after I dumped the EMG's.

Michael Dolan does some great work. I had him work on my '72 Rick and he did a fantastic job.
