Show your LADO basses !!!

i received this bass as a gift from my father's coworker. it says "lado" on the headstock, but it doesn't have the trademark eagle. on the back it's got the product code R-2-109, but google hasn't been able to help me find out what that means. i guess what i'm really asking is; is this a real lado, and if so, then what kind is it?

thanks!

My Lado Medallion. They are a kinda a cross between a Spector and a Warwick Streamer. This is before I stripped it, underneath it's AAA flamed/tiger maple. Neck is ebony. Hardware is all Schaller.

Here is a couple pics of a stunning Lado Medallion that's been restored. It's not mine but, I want to show how beautiful the wood is and when they are restored they are awesome.

Oops! Just the fret board, It's neck through quilted maple like a Pedulla.
I'll up some pics of mine when refinished, I'm thinking gray/black stain oiled and waxed to highlight the wood.
Cheers.

Man, when I was 13 or 14, a Lado was THE shiznit for a young Toronto metalhead bassist!

I briefly lived around the corner from Joe's shop in Scarborough and I used to drive that poor bugger crazy. I used to hangout at his shop a couple of times a week after school and just play every bass in the store and never bought anything. Good dude! Never threw me out.:bassist::hyper:

Great looking guitars and lots memories... I bet I played every bass he built between 1982-1983.:D

A medallion found on line. Pickups are a mystery to me. If anyone has one for sale I'm looking for another.

Well, this is not mine either, but I believe Lado isn't getting the credit it's due on this site. It's a small builder and I think perhaps, they didn't get the branding down like other builders in that era. Spector and Warwick started about the same time and look where they are at, but I'm speculating.

I need to get a new bridge for it. The little cast tabs that hold the strings are breaking off. The bridge is stamped "Wilkinson U.S.A.". Anyone got suggestions for a replacement? I should probably email Mr. Kovačić and ask him.

Mine came with a Schaller which is nice, too predictable?

A Lado medallion 2. I'm looking to buy this instrument, who owns it?
