I'm a huge fan of Ocean Turquoise and after doing a search and found no thread for this lovely color, I thought I would start one up. So, for all of those with Ocean Turquoise basses, please post up. I'll start.

Mine is actually "Ocean Tortoise", as listed on the Japan Fender list of finishes. If there's a difference between that and Ocean Turquoise, I can't tell.
It started life as Fender Japan's version of a '62 RI, but a previous owner installed an Audere 4-band. I'm ditching the Audere and restoring it to its original passive setup (including brass ground strap), but with a stacked knob setup instead of the original 3-knob dealio.
Kinda hard to get an accurate pic of the color. It has a tendency to come out looking more like LPB sometimes.

Nice bass. The color almost looks like mint green from your photo, though I'm sure it's not. Beautiful color. I used to have a 62 concentric knob bass as well as you can see in the last photo which was a cool Inca Silver. Traded it for a standup.
I like that Silver '62, never seen one in that finish before.
That Fiesta Red one is cool, too. What's the story on that one?

The Fiesta Red Reissue is a 64 CS from 1997.

Amazing! Are these all vintage basses? That might be a dumb question asking you.
Ha! No not all actually. The ocean turq is a 66 replica I built. The white p is my #1 for recording... A 1961 slab neck/tuners on a custom shop '59 body and 1980 pickup. And the jazz on the right is an all original vintage 1969.
Ocean Turquoise is my fav color. Unfortunately I do not own one. That needs to change.

Sure... The neck started out as unbound and I had the binding installed after the fact. So like an original vintage neck, the binding is "toothed" around the frets, as opposed to the frets extending over the binding like many reissue necks (which makes for a smoother and more accurate feel). The neck has also been reshaped and thinned, so it feels exactly like a real 66 jazz. Finish is all nitro which I had done by MJT guitars, including sending the neck to them to match the headstock. Body is a lightweight alder Wildwood USA, and the whole bass weighs just 8 lbs. 4 oz. Pickguard is a real vintage mid/late 1960s tort (which really makes the whole bass I think, as far as the looks). Pickups are the USA '64 AVRIs (the best reissue pickups ever made IMO). Decal is a repro 66. Tuners are Gotoh lollipops, and all the hardware is light aged USA Fender reissue to give it the "closet classic" look.
This bass is probably about the 25th replica bass that I have built, and my favorite of all.
On the color wheel, Ocean Turquoise would be heading towards green from Lake Placid Blue.
Out of curiosity, who did the binding installation? I have a '62 AVRI I'd love to get binding put on.
