Oh Yeah!
Blondes really are much more fun, (disclaimer here as my BFB is a RedHead), both in the studio and mic'd up live.

Still kicking myself for letting go of not only a piggyback Bassman with a 2x12 cab but a Blonde Showman with a pair of JBL 15 cabs.

But what did I know back in 69'!

Cheers,

Mr. BEAR

You should hear it! I just finished playing The Beatles "Dig A Pony" a few minutes ago on guitar..The tone/overdrive/compression is nearly identical to the one on the album (rooftop performance)..I believe Harrison had a '64 blonde Bassman from '65 on..

Harrison took over Pauls Bassman I believe. It is, from what I've heard, the most recorded Beatles amp b/c Paul used it extensively for both bass and guitar, then Harrison began to use it for guitar, so it saw the most use of any amp they played. Pretty cool.

You are correct sir! Even when they reunited in the late nineties around the release of the Anthologies sets, there was footage in Harrison's house/studio and in one scene, in the corner was the ol '64 Bassman!

AB165 in 2X10 combo. It cranks! I used to use it as a practice amp (for bass) using a BDDI for a boost and into a 1X15 folded horn cab. That Bassman kept up with a cranked Crate 2X12. Of course the cab had something to do with it.

Here it is:

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to post this photo:cool:
