Show Your Orange Basses!

I was going to say, I thought those were both super popular colors.

If I ordered one through GC, with the colors I wanted and they were standard colors, would it cost anymore than buying the one they have at the store?

Depends on how much you can talk them down in the store. Since it's been hanging in the store, it's more likely to have more scratches or problems than one ordered direct. At least you can say that to them as you try to finagle a deal. :D Also if you mention you can go to another company and get it cheaper, they might go lower. You should call Bass Central and talk to them. They'll usually give you a deal.

VERY nice!! Is that Sunset Orange? I've been tossing up a P Warmoth build forever now - been thinking of doing SS Orange w/ a tort guard and a maple fretboard . . . great to finally see one w/ a maple board and dark pickguard. I'm SOLD!!

Tort was a very close second in my ranking. It would look good. I would have liked that too. I got this bass last year. It's a 2006 60th anniversary. It was hanging on the dealer's wall for about a year. Nobody would bite on the Sunset Orange. It is a bit different, not what you'd expect your usual middle-aged white male to have around his neck.

I've seen nicer grain but the bass is in beautiful shape and with the ash body and maple board, it has a tad more aggressive version of that characteristic P-bass woody midrange bark. I'm usually a rosewood fretboard kind of guy, but the maple is doing the job for me.

Nothing wrong w/ a "middle aged" guy w/ this bass - to me it looks very close to Fiesta Red - if it's good enough for Pino - he's got to be in his 50's . . . ;) I have a Sunset Orange P/J too the color rocks, not too "crazy" but cool. I totally hate paint now where I cant see the wood grain - something about it just looks better!

fwiw I've been staring (gassing) at this bass a lot and the black p/g is growing on me! oh descisions:confused:

G&L's clear orange over figured ash is one of my alltime favorite looks. Also works nice on a flame maple Hamer guitar:
