It is a power amp, and it holds eight 6550 power tubes (among other things), which need a good deal of space. It is 4 rack spaces high, as is my Demeter VTHF-300M (also with eight 6550's), Mesa Boogie Strategy 400 (twelve 6L6's), Mesa Boogie Bass 400 (six 6550/6l6's), and Eden VT-300A (six 6550's).

Well, the old tubes were in pretty poor shape (I think they must have been at least 6 or 7 years old) so I couldn't really tell ya, other than the fact that the new tubes didn't make any of the strange sounds that the old ones were making.

After reading this post i am shocked, some of u guys have rigs bigger then most proffesional bands!
i feel relly small cus ive just been looking to buy a rig or summink but all i have is £400 - £550, how much have most of u guys spent on some of your stuff?????
