I'm not sure if it really qualifies as a Rig of Doom, but it sure sounds nice.

I can't show a photo because they hadn't invented cameras back then but at the height of my g.a.s. I used:

SVT cab with Marshall Major (200 watts) head.
V4B cab ( 2x15 Altec 421a's in a folded horn configuration) It was almost twice as deep as an SVT or Acoustic cab. It was powered with a Sunn 2000s head.
Leslie 147 with preamp pedal (later stripped of 60 watt excellent tube amp) which was then powered by the Sunn. Speakers were upgraded from originals to 100 Altec driver for highs and 300 watt Guass driver for lows. It was so loud it lost most of it's Leslie effect. It was just loud in all directions.

Some of todays equipment is much more efficient and effective in a smaller size. However my Acoustic 360 turned up to 8 easily handled two 100 Marshall stacks and two drummers in a medium sized chapel.

After reading this post i am shocked, some of u guys have rigs bigger then most proffesional bands!
i feel relly small cus ive just been looking to buy a rig or summink but all i have is £400 - £550, how much have most of u guys spent on some of your stuff?????

Ebay, peavey firebass with 410 cab, thats how i got started on mine

Thats a hell of alot feeding into the one speaker, its usually the other way about (less rack stuff more speakers)

gotta love the over 6ft stack tho

My biggest rig ever was:

Ampeg Classic (1970's) SVT- this baby died in a glorious flash of white light and fire

18" Marshall Reflex Cabinet w/EV speaker (this thing was gigantic, sort of like those old "acoustic" 2x15 bins)

Yorkville 8x10 cab (very simular to the 1970's ampeg 8x10)

300 all tube watts into 1x18 and 8x10 (this rig could make trailer-parks think there was a tornado)!

My current rig can sound the trumpet of the apocalyse!!!

I don't know if this is a rig of doom, but it moves some air.

2x 115sbx-II (400 watts/each)

I recently sold my 4x10 and went back to a 2x15 set-up. One of the best decisions I've made. no real loss of punch or high-end. My pic below-

My Rig of Doom... Well not really a rig of doom but a pleasing souning rig all the same.

Head: Gallien Krueger 800RB (1987), formally ToddTodd's
Cabs: Ampeg SVT 410HE (when it gets here, was ment to be today )
Home Made 1x12" w/ Delta 12LF, this will be used stand alone for smaller gigs.

Nice decision. I'm using a 4x10 and 1x15 RBS cabinets, predecessor to the SBX and I'm looking at moving to a pair of 115's. Do you use the horns on the SBX's or do you shut them off?

Actually I don't use it with bass, my brother would kill me. He's living at home this summer so I have free reign of his Classic 30 and American Standard Strat.
