This thread has become largely indistinguishable from the "show your amps" thread. My Trace 1X12 combo is not a rig of doom. If all I owned was a 1X12 combo, my saying "For me, this is doomish" does not make it any more doom-inducing.

This is what doom looks like.

The Mesa in the top left corner can't run all these cabs, and is not used when the other amp is in use. The other amp DOES power all these cabs.

how do you like that ampeg cab?

I like it, but I don't love it. I'd certainly tell anyone interested to get one if it was $300 or so. This one used to be mine, now it's the guitarist's and sits in his practice space. It was quite good stock, but not inspiring. I changed the speakers and rewired it to two 4-ohm loads to use with the Fender amp in the picture. With EV and Eden speakers I've A/B'd it against several brands and I'd rate it just below a Mesa Diesel 2X15, which is one of my favorite cabs. It's relatively small for the speakers it has in it, but it's very heavy and its thickness means it won't fit in every car.

The current owner hates crossovers so he rewired it to one 8 ohm load, minus crossover. The 10s complain about the bass the Fender puts out, but were fine with the 400+.

If we're counting drivers, the ugly mess here has 4 10s, 4 12s, and 4 15s when powered by the Fender.

Pedal board and rack merged (best of both worlds?). By removing a couple peices of velcro I can pull out the pedal board and place on the floor

Gator 4sp rack bag
Shure wireless
SVP-PRO Pre
Pedals--MXR+dist(M-80), Marshall "The Compressor", Planet Waves Tuner
Crown Power Amp XLS-602 2x600w
Avatar 2x10 Delta-4-ohm
Avatar 1x12 Neo 4-ohm

also, 12v system rigged up to include a red neon light inside bottom cab, a blue one inside top cab both set to go off to the "music"

a 12v black light inside rack to provide "glow" and lightup dials on pedals, and a little white neon light on left side to provide overall lighting for the entire front face of rack. excessive? well maybe.-- too much time on my hands? yes

white box in back of pedal board is a 1/4 junction box that allows the in and out to the entire board to be easily disconnected----the volume pedal is directly wired to be in between the pre-amp and the power amp so I can increase volume without affecting the amount of gain into the preamp. also allows you to increase/decrease stage volume without affecting FOH levels if soundman has you lined into the main FOH board.

smaller junction box at top is to keep wires under control--wish the ampeg had a rear input

Damnit, demon, you're just rubbing it in now....:D

OK, here's a question for you: 70's SVT or Mesa 400+ shootout, which is your favorite?

I bet Henry knocks a mean punch too.....

I'm gonna do a shoot out between the Mesa 400+, SVT, SVT-CL, SVP-CLw/SVT-300, and Trace V6 soon. For cabs I'm gonna use an NV610, SVT 810, and Trace 1084.

I just picked up the SVT today and I'm gonna bring it to a tech to go through it before I start comparing it to the others just so they're all up to snuff. I'm thinking of redoing the SVT and SVT cab in blue checker tolex like a B-15
