Simple, but hypnotic bass lines

I've played a lot of covers and adaptations over the years.
I have a soft spot for simple bass lines that especially need steadiness and intensity. Those bass lines that induce a hypnotic state when done right.

"Once in a Lifetime", Talking Heads.

Not sure if it counts, as it was reportedly spliced together into the ostinato that is so hypnotizingly relentless throughout all the harmonic changes of the song, but I always get mezm
erized by it.

Tal is a MACHINE when it's called for!

Better believe it. I'm sure her technique is better than mine at playing it, too. She uses what looks like one barred finger to complete the whole phrase, while my hand looks like a lobster scrambling away from an invitation to lunch.*

*Really, not that bad... but you get the idea. When the groove is good, this song is both fun to play and sounds great!
