Simple, but hypnotic bass lines

The first of several times I saw them live was in 1989 at a place with a max capacity of about 1,000.
I am a dyed in the wool metalhead, yet, I effing love this!
I haven't read all the previous posts, apologies for double mentions here:
- Most stuff from Jane's Addiction and Eric Avery
- Early Simple Minds works
- The Madchester era and 80s Manchester scene, The Smiths, Stone Roses...
I like that kind of playing too
Actually, there's a (rather famous) Italian bass player too, very inventive with leading, pick-driven lines: Gianni Maroccolo.

Quite reminiscent of Jane's and Avery, imo.

I'd be crazy if I left these two out. In my mind, kind of like The Cure's "We will rock you", and "We are the champions", being played consecutively. I always listen to/jam on these tracks in that same fashion.
