Well Heaven's Supergroup just found a new singer. We have Kieth Moon and Bonham switching off on the drums, Hendrix on the guitar, Richard Wright on keys, Entwistle on bass switching off with Jack Bruce (also on vocals), and now Joe Cocker vocals/keys.

Add Jon Lord on keyboards as well.

Joe was one of the great ones. His Woodstock performance, in contrast to many of the other Woodstock acts, remains fresh and timeless; which says a lot. You watch it and get the feeling you could be hearing a current performance. In the field of popular music, he got it and moved the boundaries out. So many fantastic recordings during his life, which we get to enjoy. His recording and video shoot for Unchain My Heart remains an all time fav of mine.

That's always been one of my favorite Cocker tunes as well. In the last few years it was also covered by Clapton with Stainton in the band and Tedeschi/Trucks band.

my sons and I just listened and compared his version and Grand Funk's version of "Feelin Alright" last week and we agreed that Joe's version was better. Sorry to hear of this loss!

If I remember correctly it was Carol Kaye who played on Cocker's studio version.
