I did, but not before doing further research, plus I've had some of their other drams, and even though this one is reported to be a little different (in a good way) i feel pretty confident in my purchase. i don't have the collection you have, but i have several drams from various distilleries, some dating back into the late 60's, so i'm not too worried. besides, i own my own decisions. i wouldn't blame you anyway. unless... you'd feel so guilty you'd send me a bottle of your best stuff... yeah, that's the ticket... yeah, i'll do that... LMAO!!!

P.S. I hope to darken your country someday with a visit. If everybody is as cool as you are, I can't go wrong. :)

To be fair some of them were freebies from contractors that used to work for me.
What ones are the 60's they will be quite rare i would have thought.
I know a few guys that are searching for their year of birth in 60's but one or two haven't managed to find one ......at a reasonable price that is.
If you decide to come over here drop me a line and i could suggest places worth a visit. I holiday in Scotland every year usually at Loch Ness where i've been going since mid 90's. The owner of the accomodation moved from large log cabins on the mountainside to proper full size houses. All 1st class accommodation. I've travelled all over Scotland and usually drive approx 2500 miles over 2 weeks while there visiting some of the islands too. Think i've visited or passed thru every town or village on mainland Scotland.

It cost me a bit more than the 10 YO but not outrageously so. I agree it is more intense and stronger and requires a degree more attention paid, but it is easily worth it. It has many of the same qualities but not quite as sweet as the non-cask 10.

I was doing that some with my bourbon, and liked it, but have yet to try it since finding out that what I really liked was scotch. Every time I go to give it a try, I don't. I just love the way these are as is, and I know nothing bad can come from it, but I keep on not doing it. Okay, until tonight. Tonight I'm going to give it a go with the 57.1% Corryvreckan...

If you try it and don't like it, then don't do it, but you ought to try it because you might like it.

It doesn't cost much to try, but don't do it because you think you ought to.

that would be incredible!!

I used to have a lovely '69 bowmore, and currently have a '68 glendronach 25yr that i just love. all my other stuff varies from 10-25 year from various distilleries/vintages. nothing particularly notable to the more refined collector but definitely good for me.

I'm new to TB and may have just picked up your comments the wrong way. If i have i apologise and like yourself i will remove my earlier post. I'm not yet used to the differences in how we describe or phrase things so hopefully a little patience with me as a foreigners until i get a better feel for it all.
