Single Malt Scotch!

I'd add Highland Park 12yr to that list. For many years when my tastes exceeded my finances by a great deal, it was my go-to scotch.

If there's a Trader Joe's near you, they often have TJ-branded bottlings of "name" Scotches. I've seen Talisker and a couple of others there with no difference except for the label.
Caol Ila is just plain not available in Canada.
I always try to bring a bottle back when I go to the US.
and +1 on the others. They're even relatively cheap up here.
At the risk of being called cheap, McClelland's Islay scotch is a 5 year Bowmore bottling. I suspect Legend is 10 year. It's got an amazingly decent flavor but it also has a little raw edge from a lack of aging that you perceive as "alcohol-y". It's 22 bucks a bottle. (22 buck chuck?) They also do a Lowland 5 year version of Auchentoshan and a Highland version that at the moment I forget. I wasn't that impressed with the Lowland, but then I doubt I would be with the full aged Auchentoshan.
I like my Lagavulin, Laphroig, Oban and Talisker much better of course, but for a quick "knock 'em back" during a game, it gets 'er done with decent flavor.

I've always enjoyed those McClellands, and the price is tough to beat. I had no Idea that it was a young Auch/Bowmore. Not a fan of the highland or speyside though.

Indeed. By using one large piece of ice (spherical or otherwise), the ice melts more slowly, thereby your drink doesn't get as watered down.
Even better than that are these:
Non-porous stones. Stay cold longer and don't melt at all.

The more astute among you will have spotted that there is no Finlaggan distillery - which means this comes from an unnamed distillery....It's a mystery...none shall share this secret. (apparently aheavily guarded secret).
It's a little young, but is quite tasty. It's also $18 a bottle. Now, before you all pooh-pooh its possible deliciousness at that price, try it. Recognize the taste?
Can't say the name, but it reminds me of a tumbling beer....yes, I hate it when I see lager fallin'.

Anyone drink Glenmorangie? (Sorry, this thread is a bit of an epic read...)
The Madeira finish Glenmorangie is one of my all-time faves. Regular is just a touch on the bland side for me, but I've usually got one around for guests.
Recently, I was following a thread in the Band Management section and it morphed, somewhat, into a discussion on whisky. Thinking that we could use a scotch thread here on TB I started one and was quickly directly here. Even though there has not been recent activity here I will re-post my comments.
In the other thread someone mentioned Glenmorangie Nectar D'or. Fine stuff, that. I happen to have a bottle open on the kitchen counter. Slainte!
Someone else referenced their changing perceptions of Lagavulin 16. Personally, I really enjoy the Lagavulin 16. However, there are a couple of Ardbegs that I enjoy even more and, as my current self-imposed guidelines call for at least one peated and one non-peated bottle to be opened at any given time (sometimes lasting months, sometimes hours depending on many variables) the current open stock is:
Nectar D'or
Ardbeg Corryvreckan
Signatory Dallas Dhu 1975 (28 y.o. at bottling)
The Glenmorrngie has a ways to go before hitting empty but the Ardbeg is almost gone so I am contemplating the next peated bottle. Currently thinking Ardbeg Super Nova or McCarthys Clear Creek Single Cask.
Anyone here tried one of those? If so, what do you think of them? What other whisky are TBers enjoying?
My tastes cover quite a wide range but an "Islay or Bust" bumper sticker would not be out of place on my car.

I read about it often in Neil Pearts books and finally got some. It was of the 60 buck-a-roo variety and it is seriously good. I'm not sure I'll try the 150+ dollar 18 year old stuff I saw in the locked case on the shelf next to it next to it . . .
