Single Malt Scotch!

Johnnie Walker was born in 1805, the blend was put together in 2005 to celebrate 200 years since his birth. Very limited edition, contains whisky that was up to 70 years old. Whisky that old will be well before 40% alcohol, upside of a blend is you can use some younger (relatively) whisky to bring up the content. Granted, you can do that in single malts too, but it'd need to be age stated at the youngest malt (or NAS).

Got yourself a bargain there though, it retails at £25k ($42k) here :p

I like Blue Label, but not as much as the Green Label, which is 1/3 or 1/4 the price. Still, bottles like that aren't for us normal folk.

Just picked up a bottle of Bunnahabhain 18 and it is very good, very special. Hopefully I can make it last a while.

Agreed. JWGreen is great bang for the buck.

Given a choice, I'd go.for.Highland Park 12, Talisker 10 or Laphroaig quarter cask.

I know this isn't single Malt scotch, but I'm posting it here anyway.

My brother just sent me this picture he took at our local Costco. Johnnie Walker Blue Label from 1805, which would make it 209 year old whiskey for 20K.

My gosh... honestly... isn't that taking the "99 game" a bit too far? Crimony... if you can afford something like this, just saying 20,000, 20K, or 20 Large isn't going to phase you at all. Holy crap. :rollno:

Can we talk blended in here?

I am really digging this "Robert Burns" blended. Been working through a handle of it this month and it's very good.

I love Laphroaig but I just can't always afford it. There are lots of good blends out there.

Added another Islay staple to my assortment in the Frankfurt airport duty free coming home from Musikmesse this past weekend. Made sure to check the exchange rate and the price of a 750ml bottle at home to make sure if was actually a good deal. I think it ended up being about 10% cheaper by volume when you included the normal Chicago tax rate.

Been meaning to pick up a bottle of standard Ardbeg 10 for awhile now. Should have picked up the Bunnahabhain while I was there as well. Of the standard Islays, Lagavullin and Laphorig are still my favorites, but I think I'd pick Ardbeg 10 over any of the other ones. I keep all the Islays on top in the basket for me to look at (the site makes me happy) and all the other whiskey/scotches/misc liquors sit inside.
