singlecut chambered.

Got a bit of work done on it. Headstock is drilled and the fingerboard is re-slotted. The fingerboard is 3/8" thick. Does that sound a bit fat, or about right? anyways, pics tomarrow.

Before i forget, J_D lent me an idea I have been thinking on. My original plan is to lower the neck area on top at the body, so i can top it off with figure cherry, and have fb overhang. He suggested I lower the same area, and then lower the area past the neck pickup more, and top that area with cherry, that way when i router in the pup cavities. It will give the illusion of a set-neck, by having the maple-bloodwood-maple neck show until the neck pup, then figured cherry all the way after that. Idk yet. just wanted some opinions, plus its late, and i want the idea written down somewhere so i can remember it. lol.

Holy crap. its been about a year since i started this, planning and then building. Its fun to look back on what you thought the final bass would look like, and how that picture in your head is always evolving as you get further tward the end.
Anyways the main work done since last time is tuner holes are drilled, fingerboard is re slotted through the bindings. The knobs are not in there final location, neither are the jazz pups (may not be jazz pups in the end. thinking about doing neodymnium pups. any suggestions on something that will really bring out the 8-string/hollowed body sound?). still quite a ways to go....
Body shots. HEHEHEHEHE........ body shots....
