Got my V7-5 since yesterday. In the Evening, ve've had a Rehearsal. I have to say, I am very impressed. The Bass came flawless and with a perfect Setup out of the Box. I have ordered @ Thomann, because I live in Germany. I ordered on Tuesday, the bass was delivered on Thursday. A small Card named as "Quality Inspection" was made and signed from a Guy (or a Girl) from Thomann.

At the Rehearsal, i've "played" a little bit with the Preamp/Eq, wich is mighty. I still prefer, running it through my Tonebone Bassbone, but using the Mid Control from the Heritage-3. Rest of the V7 EQ was flat. Nontheless, I found, the Heritage 3 Preamp is a good Tool and you easily can dial in a good Sound.

Man, I wish 35 Years ago, when I started playing Bass, such Basses @such a Price were available. Count me in.... :)

As I am still very satisfied with my V7-5 (Ash/Maple), i am planing to pull the Trigger on a second one --> Alder/Rosewood.

I'm looking for the same thing, no new drilled holes, just an easy drop-in replacement. I am almost 100% sure that the Hipshot HB5 tuners are an exact fit to drop in but I have yet to buy some to try it.

So these Sire basses all have the small fret wire? Can anyone confirm the string spacing? Some reviews have 19mm. Their website FAQ has "under 18mm" in the FAQ section

If it has small frets and 18mm spacing I'm pulling the trigger on a sunburst alder V7 vintage.

I believe it has the same frets as the early pre-cbs fender basses had, which was actually guitar fret wire. Fender changed to the medium jumbo frets in the mid 60's

I really need some help from anyone who's ordered their Sire from Thomman:

1. IF YOU ORDERED ONLINE; How fast did you get an email after completing the order process?
2. IF YOU ORDERED BY PHONE; Same question as above.
3. What was the time span from date of purchase to delivery to your door?

The reason I am asking this question is I completed the order process online and got no movement on my card or email and it has been about three hours, is this normal? I don't want to make the mistake of reordering and my card gets double hit. Thanks in advance as your help would be greatly appreciated.

I ordered online. It was a few months ago already so I can not say for absolutely sure but I do think I got an automatic reply right after placing the order. They sent another email to confirm it manually the day after (early morning local time in Germany). I received mine I think within a week as seems to be usual for their delivery to my location. However, I live in Finland, not that far from them. Any North American destination will take much longer I'd expect.

EDIT: Oh, do check your spam folder, too. Just in case.

I ordered online and after 20 minutes got an email confirming the order.
Here is my timeline so you can have a better idea and give you some piece of mind.
You should wait a little longer and if the case contact them over the phone because they caught up and I mean pretty badly and via email it will take way longer to get an answer.

I didn't save records on either of my Thomann Sire purchases, sorry. I do remember being rather nervous at first but ended up very happy with their customer service.

Also keep in mind that there's a time difference, if you order after hours (in Germany), you might have to wait until morning their time for order completion (not sure how 24x7 their setup is).

I just ordered my Sire V7 Vintage . Sire website shows the bass as estimated ship date November 15. Does this mean the bass is expected to ship to me on that date or is that when the bass will ship to Sire? Im trying to figure out when I can expect to get the bass in my hands. Also , will my card be charged now or when the bass ships to me?

I think they charge when they ship the bass, normally. My most recent purchase was a custom order (M7 fretless), and in that case, you pay in advance, up front when making the order (or more correctly, when they receive, process, and confirm the order).

I didn't like the flat poles either. You can get very small rare earth magnets (very small round mags). I set the pickup for the lowest strings (E and G, 4 string bass) and the put two small magnets on both pickups for the A and D strings. It does raise the volume nicely and it sounds level to me across all strings.

Though ingenious, that sounds like a flaw in design, and a PITA.

hello there fellas, i just got my v75 vintage white blonde today, passive mode sounds like a charm but the preamp is not working. i'm i the only one having a problem with this basses? i decided to buy from them because of the good reviews and their awesome promotional campaigns and advertising, but i am really disappointed with the product. this was the last ash model they had on stock and i don't wanna wait 2 or 3 months to buy another one of this same model, they offered me the sun burst alder because is the only one in stock right now. i been debating with myself about taking it to a luthier to have it check because i really liked the bass. any suggestions?
