That's a bummer!!! Assuming that you tested/replaced the batteries there's only a couple of things you could do..... take it a knowledgeable luthier and have it checked or contact Sire directly and you may be able to get a replacement preamp. The Sire's are really worth listening to when that preamp is engaged.

I actually did that and he new ones he sent me fell apart. If you saw how they made them it makes perfect sense why the clover leaf comes off. There is no set screw it alan key to hold it to the peg. Just a pinch and click kinda system made from cheap metal.

I would have it checked first by a trusted luthier. I found a small issue with my pick ups I was able to fix myself. I would have never notched it if I hadn't opened up the ads out of curiosity.

At the end of the day any company had to trust its employees to not make mistakes which as we all know is impossible.

Thanks bro!! This is my personal rig for local shows...EBS HD350Plus (the plus is the amp was customized by EBS...instead of 350 w@ 2 ohms,it's actually 650 w@ 2 ohms) Marcus Miller had a few of them made for his European tours cause he wanted the bigger sound with the smaller amp size... EBS gave me this one at NAMM a few years ago...they're not on the market but they probably should consider it! :-) The cabs are EBS Proline 2000 series 2X10's

Jackie is the modern day version of James Jamerson. Listen to how he compliments the vocals without getting in the way. The melodic lines aren't complicated but it's where he places every note that's magic. It doesn't matter what bass he plays he's going to kill it. I gotta admit I've been a JC fan for years.

Thanks again for the inspiration my dude. Get that bass lesson did started I want to learn what you know if that's even possible.

Very simple to remove. They are very small, not even as wide as the actual poles and the height is less than an American standard outlet plug arm (I was looking around my music area for something to compare it to). I have a 4 string V7 with one magnet on each of the inner two poles. They stay secure when playing, but I have the chrome PUP cover on the bass. I did loose a couple when I changed strings, so I'd suggest removing them for that. Also, if you slap a lot (I don't), they might get dislodged.

@MakeItGruv I don't know if I'd say all that but,thanks!!! Hahaha! I'm definitely a HUGE Jamerson fan...I have the p-bass with 10 yrs old flats on it!!! :) One of my secrets is to know the words to all songs so I can weave in and out of what the vocalists are doing...pretty much everything cool I play is DIRECTLY because of the vocalist!!
