A month? That's not a "long" wait, that's a "typical" wait. They were giving some people knobs when they had to wait 7,8 weeks and the like.

The good news is, you can get chrome knobs almost anywhere. I just ordered from a third party vendor, on ebay or amazon I think, when I got the bass. The chrome knobs are SO much nicer than the black plastic ones, especially for a light-hued bass like my natural / maple V-7 5 banger.

Yeah.Exactly.I just don't want the plastic knobs.That's good to know that I can get them from Amazon.Thanks for the info.
It's funny that if Sire has them that they don't offer them as an upgrade.Sela.

Must have missed that in this thread. Could you point me to a vendor for chrome knobs which fits as direct replacement for the plastic knobs on the V7 ? Does it also work for the stacked knobs ? May be someone here knows a vendor in Europe ?

I will try and recall/find out where I got mine.. and yes, I was able to find stacked knobs. SOMEWHERE in the behemoth of a thread there is stuff about this, including me asking people the same questions you are. Come to think of it, I might have had to use 2 different vendors for regular and stacked knobs, but they are just knurled chrome so while slightly different, it's not noticeable unless you look for it. Watch out with stacked knobs (and plain ones I guess), you might need to buy the bottom and top separately, and you'll want to make sure about size (stacked come in 2 measurements/sizes for pot spindle size).

There are others here who have also tracked them down, they might have better sources than I do.

I had few bass with sensitive neck before, they shift when humidity changes apparently.
It was a big problem to me.
Now I consider to get a M7 5 string (neck with graphite rod reinforcement) after watching M7 demo videos on Youtube.
So I wanna check one thing - how's the stability of the neck?
Does anyone have a problem with their neck?

I've had my M7 fretless for several months now, I haven't had any issues with neck movement (and this was from summer to winter, so wild swings in ambient temp and humidity especially, have about a foot of snow here this morning).
Edit: I should add I've had my M3 through several more changes of seasons (over a year longer than the M7), and even without graphite reinforcements, have had no neck issues. So I'm even more confident in the M7 neck with them.

Well took my new VV7 5 out for 2 gigs this past weekend, and got nothing but praise from my band members. Very focused with a ton of lows. The neck felt very fast, and it was a joy to play. being 9.2 pounds was such an up side.

@bholder , a foot of snow? Ugh! We've been blessed with a very mild fall-into-winter here in southern Wisconsin, unseasonably warm. It was 70 late last week. 19 degrees now... winter arrived Friday.

Right on!! Exactly my experience and take on the Vintage V7....a little faster to play, more focus and great lows. The original V7 also has those lows but the Vintage is faster and more focused. Both staying and not going anywhere hopefully while i am still alive! Wonderful basses

I know, different profile, but I noticed a difference in the neck back finish on my M7, more matte than sticky gloss, maybe they're doing that on the vintage V7s as well?

The gloss feels the same to me on both of the necks....i prefer a satin finish but don't feel like applying steel wool to either anytime soon. Gorgeous instruments and don't feel like botching them up. Plus i am digging the tone and don't know how that will effect them....?

Use a scotchbrite, safer than steel wool and it won't affect tone at all, just makes the neck less sticky.
