the neck is more confortable than v7?
it is possibile to have the action lower than v7?...Last question...which ha the best lowb??
thank You! !
I think the action can be set as low as you like it on either. The M7 neck is definitely thinner, and has a matte finish adds to the slick feel. I can't really compare apples to apples on low Bs, I have different strings on mine, but no complaints on any of them.

I havent been super active here in the club in a while and I'm sorry if this has been asked to death but... Have any of you all had a custom pickguard made for your V7? Any companies or makers that you would recommend? Any pickguards that can be bought without a custom order that'll fit? I'm thinking of losing my tort for a w/b/w pickguard for my white Alder V7. Also, does anyone know what specific color of white the bass is?
Hey there and welcome back! I just ordered a b/w/b pickguard from WD music about a week and a half ago. Supposedly I'll get it this week, but it was an odd process, and I had to do a tracing as well. I'll let you know how it goes once I receive it. The Alder V7s are antique white? I think?

V7 Ash 4 TS. Does anyone know if Sire has a product registration site? And what info does the serial number contain?

Is it possible to get something close to a precision and a musicman tone with the sire v7? I know if I want those tones I should get that basses
I have both the V7 and VV7 and feel that you won't quite get either of those. You can get pretty close to a P bass by soloing the neck pup. I would look at the M3. I don't have any personal experience with it but the pups seem to be alot closer to a musicman.

After playing some precisions, musicmans and jazz style configuration, I reached the conclusion that i´m a jazz bass guy. Despite this, having other tonal options is always great but i reckon that for example, if you want a musicman tone, get a musicman. But you can get a lot of tones from the preamp of the sire v7!

I just stated playing my M7 5 and was wondering do I need to order extra long scale strings if I want to string thru body?
Good question. I have regular long scale strings for mine, but I have to admit, I haven't put them on yet, still exploring with the stock flats.

Here's a studio recording of the ol Sire V7 vintage(alder/maple)!!! :-) As always,no plugins on the bass channel.Just my lil EQ settings and an Evidence Audio instrument cable(Lyric HG) plugged direct into my Apollo interface.

I just got another email from UPS. My delivery date has been pushed back a day to the 13th, ugh. I've waited this long. I guess I can endure another day.
Yeah I don't mind waiting for a quality instrument. Truthfully it would be nice to get some freebies so even later doesn't bother me. Still no word on mine. I'm holding out for the 9t.

Still exploring strings. Dunlop used to sell the MM, nickel super brights but the only ones I see with his signature are the stainless steel. Anyone know if the nickel, super brights in the lt grey package are the same as the ones that used to have the signature?
My DR Pure Blues were good at first but dulled rather quickly. Stock Di Addarrio strings are back on it for now but they have always seemed to have a scooped, hollowness to them. Might try the DR Fatbeams. I remember liking them on some basses.

I have been playing my M7 5 for about a week now, and I have a question. I know it's a 35 scale, but the bass actually plays like my 34s. I've owned other 35 scale basses that felt like 35s, but this one feels to much shorter. It actually feels shorter than my 34 scale V7 and VV7. I know that it has a much shorter head stock so that makes it appear alot shorter, but it really seems like a short bass. Even the case is smaller. I'm really enjoying this bass, but am I seeing/feeling things?

Amazing, eh? Nope, you're not seeing things-- at least I assume not, I have never measured the scale, but just took their word for it, lol. It really does play like a 34" in terms of feel and reach needed, so comfortable. I find the B string has a little more firmness than the V7 which benefits the tight B tone. And yeah, the case is slightly smaller, as I found out a few weeks ago, when I accidentally tried to put a V7 in the M7's bag. I had a few moments of cognitive distress until I realized the bag is sized differently too. The only place I notice at all that the scale is slightly longer is on the first fret or two, and even then, hardly noticeable. And, it's super light... mine came in at 8.5 pounds on the bathroom scale. I totally enjoy that it feels small but plays big. It hangs comfortably with no neck dive.

Exactly!
I think it has something to do with the upper horn reach. It seems to reach into the neck a bit more than other 35 scale basses I have owned. Plus the light weight helps but the perfect balance is what really sets it apart. Plus the monster tone...WOW! I love all 3 of my Sires, but this one is a totally different animal for sure.
