No, no, stacked pots, just not mounted right on the PCB.when you say SEPARATE, do you mean 2 totally separate POTS? Mine is a stacked knob with the vol on top.

Oh I gotcha. I hope Mickey gets back to me soon. I need to get this bass back up ASAP. I have 2 gigs this weekendNo, no, stacked pots, just not mounted right on the PCB.
That's going to be tight. You didn't happen to have it in the "full on" positions when you pulled it, by any chance? I mean, less than a week is going to be tough to get the part to you this time of year, even if you order it right now.Oh I gotcha. I hope Mickey gets back to me soon. How can I tell if it was full on? I don't necessarily need the bass for this weekend. I'm away next week on business so it could be fixed when I'm away. That's going to be tight. Well plug it in, do you get any sound at all? If so, a workable level? It'd be a pain, but you might be able to make it through a gig with no onboard volume / tone. That is, pulling the shaft likely left the pot wipers in the position they were, if you're luck, maybe you're stuck at an acceptably workable setting? Those pots are pretty cheap, even if the shaft is too long, might work out ok to order "on spec" as a temporary patch.

Anyone know what sites sell pickguards that will fit the v7? Looking for a tort or red tort pickguard.[/QUOTE
I think that mostly explains the price difference too. Though Sire USA started offering a no-gigbag option too for some models. No gigbag included.

Probably to keep it simple and keep prices down (and maybe to sell more M7s).I wonder why Sire didn't make the M3 in a 5 string version? I would like to try one with those 2 humbuckers.
I haven't actually done it yet, but Tony at Pickguardian was more than willing to make one if you send in the original as a template. He may have Sire templates by now, not sure. I would think any custom pickguard company would do the same. I don't think pickguards for other basses will fit properly.I havent been super active here in the club in a while and I'm sorry if this has been asked to death but... Have any of you all had a custom pickguard made for your V7? Any companies or makers that you would recommend? Any pickguards that can be bought without a custom order that'll fit? I'm thinking of losing my tort for a w/b/w pickguard for my white Alder V7. Also, does anyone know what specific color of white the bass is?
I guess...but they really are different animals.Probably to keep it simple and keep prices down (and maybe to sell more M7s).![]()
