I'm assuming you put that 50uf cap in there...?
Yes, meant .050uf
Here is the corrected photo.
SIRE P7 CONTROLS.jpg

You can try lowering the bottom knob, that helped mine, but in the end I changed the knobs.
A dodgy thing to do I may add, loads of guys on here damaged the pot trying to take them off (the knobs that is) lol lol
When I got my new P7 gen2 couple weeks ago the volume/tone moved together. I lowered the lower knob (ring) slightly and that fixed it. If lowered too much it will drag on the nut below.

I wasn't so happy with my Sire V7 vintage 5 string because when I got it (from a dealer, not from Sire) it was set up so poor it was literally unplayable. I got it to play and sound reasonably well but not great. But it sounded nothing like the youtube videos I had watched.I was pretty sure I was going to sell it again.
Somebody here suggested I should contact Mariano at Sire.
That was great advice. Mariano was so helpful, he sent me a new neck , no question asked. Great service! I wasn't sure what to expect and if that would do the trick, but this new neck transformed my bass into a tone monster. I love the Marcus tone and I get that now from this bass with the EQ set completely flat. I'm blown away.
I have some other J basses that were much more expensive than this one but this bass is now the best sounding and playing bass I own. I could not be happier.
OH yeah, here's a picture. I think I leave the pickguard off. It looks good that way.

This is why I only order from SW online. Mine was perfect as were all the others. Each one goes thru A 55 point inspection, Professional Photos, and ability to choose from 2-4 others.

BTW You responded to my question about EMGs in a Sire. I am no longer considering that. The new neck did the trick. There is no way I could make that bass any better.

The growl that this bass (Sire V3P) brings out with the pick is absolutely crazy!

Sounds immense! Love the tone; what are you running into?

If I can make a bit of (hopefully constructive) criticism: I think you've got some muting problems. When you're playing on your A string in the verses, there's a constant low rumble in the background, probably coming from your unmuted E string (because it instantly goes away when you move down to your E string)

Joined the club finally. Do Labella Flatwounds work through body on this bass or do I need to get their special strings? They discontinued the 760fl-tb set some time ago. I know some companies can use regular strings with their hardware.

I'm waiting for some to arrive. Will top load if not. The string through option was a selling point to me. I haven't played rounds in years.
