Arghh!! You've sent me down a rabbit hole and now I have GAS. Do you have an expensive bass? I'm wondering if you would see significant improvement on a decent Shen bass for instance? Also, did you get the adjustable soundpost just for sound/tone reasons, or was it also because of the climate you are in?

I do have a pretty good instrument, yes. But I tried the strings on another instrument too which is a very simple Romanian bass. Was also a very big difference, even played some rehearsals with it.
Don't worry, you don't need to change everything. The biggest improvement were hands down the Tempera Strings. Everything else I would call fine tuning.

The Anima Nova has a finer thread, so you can adjust the length better.
The Klangzauberstab can use different materials for the soundpost, since it is the ends only that reside on a wooden or carbon fiber post.

The rest of the discussion is mostly about patents and rights.

The marketing of the Klangzauberstab was very aggressive and unfriendly, I didn't liked it myself, but the Anima Nova is several times as expensive (due to high developing costs).

IMHO the Anima Nova is for expensive basses for professionals mostly, the cheaper alternatives (there is one more) might be worth to get installed in lower to medium price range instruments.

can anyone here describe a bit of their experience regarding the Tempera Solo model? I have seen some videos and was quite impressed. Now I have some important recordings coming up and I need to make a decision with which strings. Tempera Solo model seems extremely open and musical to me. Anyone able to share some impressions?

And also, how are your experiences especially playing with piano accompaniment? would be interesting to hear some recent sound examples. I still have one very early model but I heard the Solo have been changed a bit since then...

Got my new set! The new version was worth waiting! No buzzing on a same bass! Arco is not so screamingly bright right out of the box than it was on a previous version. The windings are smoother still. They really feel like a steel string but with much less tension and more volume (pizz). My EP weich/Bel Canto G combo felt too tense on my bass. These have less tension but they aren´t floppy at all. They are just right for my 107cm mensure.
I just played two theater (pizz/arco) shows with them with a smile on my face because my bass felt and sounded so big and relaxed. Especially pizzicato.
Temperas get deeper by time but for pure classical arco orchestra I may go back to EPW/BC mix. For hybrid use I`ve never had anything better. And it seems these could be my new favourite on my Jazz bass as a pizz string. Go figure - a classical arco string :)

I have also "only" an older set of Tempera Solos... and checking it out on my "Primus de Quatuor" they sounded really great and open, very fast and musical.... but not soooo different to my "normal" Temperas on my second bass and so I changed back to my Perpetuals with an G Stark and a D Stark to get "another" real great sound...sorry, but here is no information about the new Tempera Solo Set...:p

I am thinking about setting about setting up another bass with the latest model of the Temperas. I just heard them on the bass of a colleague...... must have them :-)

Does anyone have an idea about the current waiting time to get a set?
