I played this today and it has a neck that suites me better - thinner from front to back - than a P and sounds like a fatter P - to me. More versatile than the P/J I played yesterday as well. I felt the "J" pup was more useful. I

Actually, there is a lot of indirect information in these 18 pages as well.... Go back and look at most of the responses, pictures, posts....Most of the responses here are from players associated with Rock stylings (and this includes all associated "Rock" genres, such as metal or punk) and reference great Rock players (that do or dont play P-Basses) or reference typical household name players of other genres (like Jaco for jazzers or Jamerson for 60s RnB) in typical Bass Mag fashion,........ as if great bass players that dont play rock-oriented genres or household-names of other genres stylings (like Mark Adams) don't exist because they arent household "Rock" or Household names.
This thread serves as a proof that Responses on TB are very "Rock" or Household biased......Players who play different genres or a wide variety of genres should keep this in mind when asking advice about basses, gear, and players here
