The Casady must be acknowledged as a classic production bass already. Jack knew what he was doing, and it'll always be to Epiphone's credit that they went through with it when Gibson wouldn't.

helps, but the strings are the thing, guides them right back to the holes. I use that trick on any archtop I'm working on, such a pain to get the insides back in...
Of course, the interesting thing is that Gibson kind of knew what they were doing originally, too, but only partially - it took Jack's input to perfect the thing and make it a success.
I put on a set of ultralights and don't find the neck dive to be a problem. You just have to use a long strap and get that Jack Casady "on the hip" pose going on.

I'll plead ignorance because I've never actually tried it, but I was thinking maybe the dental mirror and flashlight would let you read the pot codes without even having to remove them.
Maybe something like this would work. It has a 90 degree attachment with a mirror.

DH lets see your pose when you get a long enough strap! FWIW I added a section of nylon webbing to a suede strap.
Saw a band a couple of weeks ago. The bass player was cycling through a P, a J, and a Jack. Surprisingly, even in the airplane hanger that they were playing in, I could hear the difference. The Jack had a nice push to it. Real solid tone. Good looks don't hurt either.
I have a Peerless Bassmaster, which is about the same bass, still made in Korea after Epi moved on to China. What a sound it puts out.
Youd be safe in the one here in town. Theyve had a Warhammer 2x12 combo with a broken wheel and 3 missing eq sliders for over a year now

I've never owned a hollowbody or semi-hollow but have been thinking about that sound a lot recently. I'm starting to look for, or may just try starting, an acoustic-ish project and that kind of sound could be perfect for that. My problem is that I really don't want to sell any of the basses I currently have in order to do that (the ol' "one in - one out" rule).
