So this thing followed me home ....

The Casady must be acknowledged as a classic production bass already. Jack knew what he was doing, and it'll always be to Epiphone's credit that they went through with it when Gibson wouldn't.

Exactly this!

I'd call it a classic bass. It's been around for 20 years, it's been used by damn near everyone in all sorts of genres, and I think in time it will come to overshadow Jack Casady himself, quite like Les Paul and the Gibson Les Paul (lots of people don't know Les Paul was a person)

I'm also very glad Gibson didn't follow through or else it would be 3-4 times the price it currently is and I'm sure the quality would be no where near what the Epiphone is.

Do you know a good contractor?

Sounds like you're going to need to build a new wing on Dark Horse Manor
The ironic part about that , is that in order to build the new wing on Dark Horse Manor, DH would likely have to liquidate a third to one half of the collection , thus negating the need for a new wing on DHM in the first place........

:(

You can blame the stupid software for that - apparently the text string 'tar d' in 'guitar dater' (without the space) triggered some sort of filter. Seems bumcracks, breastfeeding mothers and Japanese mushrooms are all shockingly bad ... but using robots to incinerate Afghan weddings is fine and dandy.

You could google 'epiphone serial number' to find the guitar dater project also. It's very useful.

When I can find deals like Fender American Special p basses for $300, and this bass for super cheap....yep, I buy from pawn shops. I do it all the time ....probably 1 or 2 a month
:D

I can tell you that if I started buying 1 or 2 basses per month I'd have to be selling 1 or 2 per month at significant margin in order to afford the alimony liability created by the inevitable divorce... :-)

Uncanny. I just browsed over to the Andertons website (they have a consignment of new EBMM stuff just in) and the 'Recommended for you' at the top of the page was a Gold Jack Casidy... Maybe if I walk up and down outside the store (it's only 30 minutes away) something will follow me home?

You will have to go in and talk to it. If it likes, you it will follow you home. Some of your money won't like it and will stay there.
