LMAO I was just thinking of that bit when I wrote that. Nah, I end up looking more like this:

Well, I DO have long, luscious blond hair... But I'm not sure that helps considering... Everything else. That might be O.K.

I'm such a white guy I can't dance to a song unless it has at least 37 bars of 6/2 guitar solo in no less than three scalar modes.
But then, boy howdy can I groove.

I actually don't like it at all. It just sort of sits there. I had never heard it before, and I may never listen again. Boring song, for my money.
... that plays Mustang Sally and Brown Eyed Girl and has a guy who dresses up in an Elvis suit and does a mini tribute to open our 2nd sets, so we're kicking song ideas around and the lead guitarist suggests Room 335 by Larry Carlton

Either fire him or rage quit. That IS the answer.![]()
It's certainly not a function of age. I just turned 50, and I couldn't care less about that song. None of the musicians/bands I know care about that song. I'm somewhat baffled by how often I see it referred to on this site. Maybe it's a regional thing.I never play Mustang I actually walked out of an already lame party 2 weeks ago when the karaoke dj starting singing Mustang Sally. I just can't stomach that song in any capacity. I guess if you are over 45, that song strikes some type of sentimental chord.

Personally, I hate jazz. That's right, I said it. I hate jazz, especially this wimpy easy listening LA studio jazz. Seriously, I'd rather listen to Yoko Ono wail like a banshee than subject myself to this limp wristed wanking.
Ok, maybe I like a little Miles Davis from mid 69 to mid 70, but that is about it.
I believe you will find,
most of US that speak of that song, do NOT
speak in terms of accolade, but rather disgust.
as a rule WE hate that damn song,
same with Brown eyed girl.
BUT, we play the damn thing,
NOT
for OUR personal enjoyment,
but because the audience likes it.
THE audience is our customer, and it is in
GOOD FORM to give the CUSTOMER what
THEY want.![]()

OMG... what a load of POO-POO!!!!
F the audience & F the Fing venue. I'm gonna Fing play what ever I Fing want and to Hades with anybody who disputes me!!! Bunch of Fing hack posers I tell ya. The audience can just get on the dance floor and just jerk around like that chick from Seinfeld!!
Don't make me Fing RAGE QUIT !!!![]()
