So what did Santa get you?

I'd had a pair of inexpensive but serviceable Sony over the ear headphones for 30 years (since high school). They finally gave up the ghost this year (I suspect my middle school aged sons played a role!), so my wife got me a nice pair of Sony studio monitors that if not mishandled should last quite some time! Also got a year of Scott's Bass Lessons, a Snark tuner pedal and a whole bunch of bass accessories, a cool t-shirt, a bunch of underwear (secretly my favorite), and perhaps most important of all, I picked up a six of this on Christmas Eve:

Mmmmm haven't had me a Xingu in 15 years or more. Good stuff.

Santa KbD went to Walmart at 06:00 this morning & raided the Seasonal aisle to bring home some treats:

two tins of assorted popcorn
two large bags of M&Ms
assorted hollow candy canes stuffed with candy (one with Butterfinger)
two boxes of Russell Stover candies (caramel, chocolate, & pecan)

On January 2nd I'm going to buy something for myself, but I'm crossing my mind over whether it will be a new cabinet + pre-owned amp head ($1k), new premium Ibanez gig bag ($90), or just a Weeping Demon Wah ($60).
The reason I won't buy now is because things are all jammed up at the couriers, whether that's UPS, FedEx, or USPS. They're notoriously bad for damaging or losing packages this time of year.

An EMG BQC preamp which doesn’t fit into my Fender Marcus Miller jazz bass and which I can’t use causing the preemptive dismantling of the stock preamp which became unusable unless I buy a soldering iron, I learn how to use it and I can find the stock preamp wiring schematics ... result ... the MM is now ready to be traded for a MIM fretless jazz bass which I wanted to buy anyway ... looking for somebody interested

Love this beer...when you want a Porter, and something a little lighter at the same time...

the standouts:

we assembled in indianapolis with family/friends to make homemade eggnog --- 5 gallons of the stuff! superb! = the best batch ever!
socks and underwear and t-shirts. good for another year (or more).
and a new mug for my mexican beer. good forever...possibly.
a gizmo which lets me diagnose/code car/engine problems. as good as the car, probably.

i have grandkids, so: christmas is always a joy!
