You really should think about swapping the drivers. Were these things sealed? If so, you may have the holy grail after a bit of restoration - sealed Ampeg 610 bass cab!!

It sounds like you got it for a great price. You didnt over free, one time I over freed for a cab and I couldnt free it for half of what I had into it.

Scored an old Sound City long time ago for free w/ 4 JBL-D120's (two were blown, the other two very ratty... had to patch them). Offed the cab and blown frames, used the remaining JBL's as monitor speakers for awhile (until someone dropped a mic and popped them!).
