Someone cracked the Animato

Man, this Animato has been a real roller coaster! Sometimes I love it, sometimes I think it's just ridiculous ;) Being in a band that's not really Animato-friendly, I almost dropped it off the board several times, but then I'll pull it out and try it again and I fall in love with the chaos all over again. That happened again this past week. It's wild, wacky, and not for everyone, but it sure does have a sound, doesn't it?

I try to use it wherever I can. It's become my staple distortion pedal now and seems to be universally loved to the point I'm actually getting local people interested! (to date, only one pedal has been sold to an Australian) So much bias naturally but it's had questions asked left, right and center whenever I use it.

To all those that ordered, cases are on the way. Expect them to be shipped out in a week or two. Still doing exams at the moment so I've been too busy to update. :(

Obviously because this has been frustrating, I'm looking at different options for manufacturing next time. If all goes well with work, I might be setting up a powdercoating area to do it myself in the future. The UV printing is the only difficult part as those printers are relatively new and cost $20,000, so I can forget about that. :o

Trust me, bro...I would never spend the bread on an Animato if I didn't think it was a killer pedal that I could put to use. I was just surprised how insane it is in real life as opposed to hearing clips or listening to Muse. It's versatile yet specialized, delicate yet brutal, and has all the grace and style of a ballroom-dancing herd of buffalo. As a matter of fact, "All the grace and style of a ballroom-dancing herd of buffalo" should be its advertising slogan.

As soon as you tell me I can order one, it'll be number 2 in Australia. Happy to help you drum up some local support as well once I get my hands on it.

Sweet glory to Odin, the cases are in Australia. :D Which is odd, they shipped out on the 12th but it seems that express takes a long time to go from Oklahoma to Chicago (5 days... ugh) I will have them this week and since I'm now not at uni, I can assemble them. I've been waiting for this... so has everyone I assume.

Provided they come out of customs quickly, I should have pre-orders assembled, packed and shipped by Friday, those that emailed me will get an email for first priority buying, then they will go on sale.

Thank god. Also, many apologies for being quiet the past few weeks, I only just finished exams yesterday afternoon. Busy life.

Excellent news mate! Will eagerly be awaiting that email.

Just wanted to post my animato I made on a crowella pcb that I was very lucky to get to purchase. I've had it done a while but I decided to do some mods to it today. First off I added a switch to bypass the treble booster section and now I have added a really good muff to my board with the flick of a switch. I also added a noise gate. I run it in a clean blend and it is by far my favorite fuzz/distortion. Thanks Adam for all the help!!

Yeah, some pedals on my board are there purely for my own self indulgence. They don't work in a band situation and certainly don't record well. BUT they keep me cheerful and sometimes it's fun to punch-em on and just grind with one of those "sick...oh this is fun"...it's like "farting in church" school boy grins on one's face! Or is this just me?

Yeah I am still here, cases, not so much. Getting extremely frustrated by it too.

So the story of it is, the cases got stuck in customs for 10 days (god knows why). As for why they've taken so long to get here after processing on the 30th of June (now 5th), I can't explain. For this reason, I normally choose express shipping but I can understand why the cases were delivered with a more standard mail service. Irrespective, they should have been here last Monday at the latest which was *technically* 10 business days but even that is stretching the reality. I am still sitting here twiddling my thumbs*

*Actually I've been working at my business

I'll send an email the instant the cases are here to explain the situation. I'm just going to get the pre orders assembled and shipped as they are done so they are on the way. I really don't want to curse myself anymore with waiting but *IF* they arrive tomorrow, all the pre orders should be done this week and I can start to get them back on sale.

The experience has been extremely shaky :( I put the tracking link for my own parcel here, not something I like to do but at this moment I just need to stress where the issue is.

Thanks for the update. Know how painful customs can be here. Hope they arrive soon.
