So, I went to check specs on an amp today and was met with a countdown to a pending reveal.

Not sure what the MB58R is, but that's apparently what is being unveiled on the 30th. Here's an over-the-top (IMHO) press release that doesn't really say much beyond "something new and 'revolutionary'". It will be interesting to see what they have.

Looks like cabs are lighter than current, you can run with it or spin like plate or basket ball.

Yeah, I have very early Italian made cabinets (CMD121P and NY 121 Extension). Looking at the impending "release" of this new product, I would have to bet *although I could be and probably am* wrong - but I have a feeling that they are going to be using the cabinet technology that GR employs in it's AT line. Don't know how they could get away with that, but we'll see on the 30th.......Cheers!!

It is a carbon fiber material as GR says "The same technology used in the Aerospace Industry".
Many companies use this type of material for cars and many other items these days. Especially since the cost per sheet has come down a lot recently, it is trickling down into the consumer area of products.

Mark Bass could get hold of this and use it, it is like Plywood. And like plywood their is no, "You can not build with this, only us." it is just a sheet of building material.

Whoever is willing to pay, build what you want with it.
The exact recipe to make the sheets may be slightly different.

Well of course, you may be right; time will tell. However, It would be great if that's what they were going to do. I absolutely LOVE the GR cabinet design (although I have never played one). But I do know that they are light as all get out, so, could be. It wouldn't make me mad........

Or maybe they have built-in gyroscopic mechanisms to assist with balanced-on-one-finger carry

Seriously, to me, there's a point of diminishing returns for lightweight cabs. Going from 60 pounds to 30 pounds is revolutionary. Going from 30 pounds to 25 pounds is kind of....... meh. You shaved a few more. So what?

The cartoon guy is spinning an "amp" on his finger. It's obviously a lightweight combo and/or cab(s). It's not even a very subtle hint. It's just..... well..... obvious.

They are doubling down on their branding and introducing a revolutionary new LET technology. Their new cabs are loaded with neon Yellow light emitting transducers.

The figure on the left has the exclamation over his head because he has a headache looking at it.
