A few years ago, I bought the 121HR cabinet which can be positioned in monitor mode. In a stroke of ignorance, I couldn't understand how the head wouldn't slide off the cab in monitor mode until someone told me that my amp bag had Velcro. The head doesn't move, even at a 60° angle. Live and learn..

Between the three ports at the top and bottom. And three on each side.

It's a smart design if you want to keep the drivers cool. It allows for a chimney effect of the hot air rising and flowing out the top ports while drawing in cooler air from the bottom. Gives them an extra edge for power ratings I'd expect.

What's the big deal with that? The box is basically made of of an engineering plastic. Glue wouldn't have been an option, nor would have staples or wood-screws. I wouldn't be surprised if those bolts actually go into metal threads on the box, but they may go directly into threads in the plastic. It looks a bit industrial, but at least it hides the screw heads..

Makes me wonder what the inside of that box looks like. As far as I know, those ports have to be calculated and designed to work that way, so it can't just be for thermal cooling. Those have to be accounted for in the design of the box.

Has anyone seen the inside of these yet?

I'm excited too.
I gig with a Ampeg RB210 and don't actually need more volume or another setup.

But the 104 is not much bigger than my current 2x10, and actually weighs less than the 2x10!
I love how small and light it is.
It would easily cover any gig I could throw at it.

Thanks Oren~ I've been seaching far and wide trying to figure out what the differences are between Energy, Pure & P. I should have noticed the heavier weight of the P. Odly enough, of the other two neo versions, the 'Energy' has a low end of 35hz, while the others~ even the neo Pure~ are at 40hz. I guess the 'Energy' has more energy lol

Agree with prognosis; but did you notice prices? 58R Head $499 and Cab's are also less than previous stuff. 58R Mini CMD 121 Pure $835 [$666 for P with Ceramic/new Piezo]

Made in Italy, new product and when every other company is raising prices 10-25% in today's economy Hmmm.

Thomann USA also has Great prices on soon to discontinued products IE: LM IV Head $468

so, anyone had yet got to try the new stuff? I saw it stocked in online shops, now out of stock again, so I assume, somebody did get their stuff.

I'm specifically interested on 102 Pure vs 102 Energy cabs, but won't able to find them locally for comparing. that is: basically I'm interested how new 'hi-fi' tweeter compares to the compression driver. I think, my reference point is 104HF, so my safe bet is 102 Energy, as it has the compression driver? or the new 'hi-fi tweeter' isn't that bad?

any opinions and experience on this? thanks

Just noticed the 102 Energy I've put a li'l money down on, which had been slated to be in stock by Nov 20th, is now saying it'll be in on Dec 20th. Feels like a "bump it by a month since we have no idea" sort of move, though it would make for a sweet bit of holiday timing if it indeed did come in by then.

Doesn't change that I was hoping to break the new guy in at a gig on Dec 2nd, but I guess that'll have to wait. The gig, I mean. I'll see that we keep pushing it til the cab arrives :cool:
